As a devoted fan who has witnessed Justin Hartley‘s transformative journey from Smallville’s Green Arrow to Kevin Pearson on This Is Us, and now to Colter Shaw in Tracker, I am beyond excited for the show’s second season! The prospect of seeing Hartley reunite with some of his Smallville co-stars is a dream come true.
Following a highly successful debut season, the popular CBS series “Tracker” is set to return for additional episodes. Starring actor Justin Hartley, who has captivated audiences playing Kevin Pearson on “This Is Us” and Oliver Queen / Green Arrow on “Smallville”, the show’s talented cast will continue to shine. The first season of “Tracker” cleverly brought Hartley together with Jennifer Morrison from “This Is Us”. Additionally, there’s a possibility that another cast member from “Smallville” may make an appearance. While speaking at ComicBook during San Diego Comic-Con 2024, Justin Hartley mentioned it would be “delightful” to work with any of his “Smallville” co-stars on the show. Notably, Jensen Ackles, who will appear in Season 2 as Russell Shaw, has previously acted on “Smallville”, although not during Hartley’s tenure.
Hartley admitted, “To be honest, I’m not sure. We do have contact information for everyone, and we’ll find out as time goes by. If schedules allow, it would be delightful to gather together. It would be splendid indeed.”
Hartley observed that there were moments when Oliver resembled Colter Shaw from Tracker, yet he often preferred solitude. Oliver strongly believed in specific issues, and his portrayal suggested a character with political motivations, which might not be as evident in Colter. In essence, Colter could be seen as a vigilante, occasionally disregarding the law to accomplish his tasks. Similarly, Oliver exhibited such behavior, but perhaps more daringly. Moreover, Oliver had greater financial means, being wealthier, and he tended to dress differently compared to Colter.
What Is Season 2 of Tracker About?
As a dedicated gamer, I’m super excited about diving back into the world of Tracker in its upcoming season! Last time we saw me (as Colter Shaw), I was tracking down rewards based on the books penned by the legendary Jeffery Deaver. Now, it looks like things are heating up with my reunion with my siblings, skillfully portrayed by Melissa Roxburgh and Ackles. Can’t wait to see what adventures await me in season 2!
As a gamer, I’d say, “Wrapping up all these stories so neatly was awesome, but now comes the challenge of making Season 2 even better. So while we tied up loose ends, we also left them hanging just enough to spark curiosity about our protagonist’s past. I think we managed to answer some questions that had been brewing all season, while at the same time setting up a bigger mystery for Season 2.”
Season 2 of Tracker will premiere exclusively on CBS on Sunday, October 13th.
