Marvel Rivals: Is it Coming to PS4?

As a long-time PlayStation gamer who has seen the evolution of consoles from the original PlayStation to the mighty PS4, I must admit I was excited about Marvel Rivals when it was announced for both PlayStation and Xbox platforms. However, as someone who still clings onto my trusty old PS4, the news that it’s a next-gen exclusive has left me feeling like an outdated Spider-Man swinging around in a world of modern Avengers.

Wondering if Marvel Rivals will be released on PS4 since it’s currently available on PS5? Here’s the scoop!

Approximately two months back, there was an official announcement that Marvel Rivals will be available on gaming consoles, such as PlayStation and Xbox. What remained unclear, though, was whether it would support last-generation consoles or not. Fortunately, we now have the information. Unfortunately, it seems that PS4 users won’t get to play this game.

Is Marvel Rivals On PS4?

I’m sorry for any disappointment, but Marvel Rivals isn’t playable on PS4. Sadly, it’s a next-generation exclusive game, so neither PS4 nor Xbox One users can enjoy it at the moment. This information is backed up by the PS Store page of Marvel Rivals, which lists it exclusively for the PS5. Moreover, the Beta version was accessible only on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, completely bypassing last-generation consoles.

It’s likely not surprising to many given that most contemporary games are bypassing PS4 and Xbox One. Nevertheless, there are exceptions such as The First Descendant. However, it’s important to note that a previous-gen version of Marvel Rivals is not being developed, so fans should not anticipate playing it on PS4 in the future.
