As a long-time fan of FBI: International, I must admit that the departure of Scott Forrester, played by the talented Kleintank, has left me a bit stunned. Having been with us since the show’s debut back in 2021, Forrester, as the head of the Fly Team, was more than just a character – he was an integral part of the series’ fabric.
*Warning: This article contains spoilers for the finale of FBI: International season 3.*
At long last, we can now confirm the U.S. debut date for FBI: International season 4! This announcement comes hot on the heels of some thrilling casting updates that we’ve received in the past few weeks.
Actor Jesse Lee Soffer, who’s famously known for his role on Chicago PD, has officially joined FBI: International for its fourth season, taking on a recurring part. Notably, he won’t reprise his Detective Jay Halstead persona from Chicago PD, but instead will introduce an entirely new character to the series.
As reported by Deadline, the role previously held by Luke Kleintank (as Special Agent Scott Forrester) in the series will be taken over by someone else, following his exit at the conclusion of season 3.
True story!! Lest gooo 😎

It was earlier unknown what part Soffer would play, but TVLine later discovered that he will act as Supervisory Special Agent Wesley “Wes” Mitchell, a new member of the Fly Team.
As a die-hard movie buff, I can’t help but express my awe over the mind-blowing twists in season 3’s finale. It turned out that Forrester and his mom, Angela Cassidy (Elizabeth Mitchell), had vanished without a trace, choosing to flee and seek refuge in the wilderness of Alaska instead.
The positive aspect is that Forrester hasn’t been written out of the story permanently, leaving open the possibility of a future guest role. However, at this moment, the actor has indeed parted ways with the series.
As a longtime fan of the series, I was taken aback when I heard the news about Kleintank’s departure earlier this year. Having grown accustomed to seeing him as a beloved character, it was disheartening to learn that he would be leaving the show. However, upon reflecting on his statement, I can understand and respect his decision. As someone who values my own family above all else, I recognize the importance of putting them first in life, especially when it comes to making difficult choices like this one. It takes a great deal of courage to prioritize loved ones over career aspirations, and Kleintank’s commitment to his family is truly commendable. While his departure will certainly be felt on the show, I wish him all the best in whatever new endeavors he pursues and hope that he finds peace and happiness with his loved ones.
In the final episode of season 3, we are treated to a tantalizing setup for many more exciting events in season 4, which, together with the original FBI series and FBI: Most Wanted, have all been approved for another season.
In the last episodes, we welcomed some fresh faces to the cast, including Teri Polo from the Meet the Parents series and Colin Donnell known for Chicago Med. Therefore, it’s clear that the fourth season of FBI: International will sport a new look.
But when can we expect the new season to land? Read on to find out.
FBI: International season 4 release date
FBI: International has been given a fourth season and will be coming back to TV screens in the United States on CBS on Tuesday, October 15th, starting at 9 PM.
In the upcoming season, it will be shown concurrently with its regular companions, FBI and FBI: Most Wanted, both of which have been granted additional episodes as well.
From a film enthusiast perspective, it seems we’ll need to exercise patience a bit more before the series graces our screens in the UK. However, rest assured, once it arrives, you can bet your popcorn that it will probably be aired on Sky Witness and NOW, much like its previous seasons have been.
FBI: International season 4 cast news – Who will return?
As a devoted cinema enthusiast, I’ve grown accustomed to seeing familiar faces return for each new installment. However, in this upcoming season, there’s a significant absence that I can’t help but notice: the one and only Special Agent Scott Forrester will not be making an appearance.
Since the show’s premiere in 2021, actor Kleintank has been a long-standing cast member. His unexpected exit from the series has left fans stunned, more so because he plays the leader of the fly team and given that another key character, Special Agent Jamie Kellett portrayed by Heida Reed, recently departed as well.
During the announcement, Kleintank expressed that after careful contemplation and weighing his options, he had come to the challenging choice of departing from FBI: International.
As someone with a deep appreciation for the delicate balance between personal and professional commitments, I find myself making this choice out of my unwavering devotion to my family. They are the cornerstone of my existence, their love and well-being taking priority over all else in my life. I am profoundly grateful for the extraordinary cast and crew of the show, who have not only been colleagues but also an extended family away from home. Working with them has been an unforgettable experience that I will cherish forever. However, it is now time to prioritize the ones who have stood by me through thick and thin, offering a love and support that transcends any professional achievement.
As a film enthusiast, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work alongside individuals whose tireless devotion and exceptional skills have transformed every moment on set into an unforgettable adventure that has profoundly enriched my life. To these incredible artists, I extend my heartfelt gratitude. Lastly, I’d like to express my sincere appreciation to the fans who have stood by us throughout the first three seasons of our journey together. Your support means the world to us.
In my humble opinion, the character had an unexpected exit when he fled with his mom, but fortunately, death wasn’t his fate, leaving room for a potential comeback in the series down the line.
In the recent installments of FBI: International’s third season, Teri Polo and Colin Donnell made their appearances, both gracing the screen in the final episodes. At this point, it remains uncertain if they will reappear in future episodes. The finale primarily focused on the core members of the fly team.
As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! It turns out Jesse Lee Soffer, best known for his long-running role in Chicago PD from 2014 to 2022, is set to join the cast as a series regular. The twist? His character will be none other than a fresh addition to the Fly Team, going by the name Supervisory Special Agent Wesley “Wes” Mitchell!
As reported by TVLine, Wes is a charismatic and daring character who serves as an agent. His exceptional intuition and unusual methods propel him relentlessly towards the pursuit of justice, leaving no stone unturned.
The main FBI: International cast we’d expect to return for season 4 are as follows:
- Vinessa Vidotto as Special Agent Cameron Vo
- Eva-Jane Willis as Megan ‘Smitty’ Garretson
- Carter Redwood as Special Agent Andre Raines
- Christina Wolfe as Special Agent Amanda Tate
- Jesse Lee Soffer as Supervisory Special Agent Wesley “Wes” Mitchell
What will happen in FBI: International season 4?
Similar to the past seasons, FBI: International season 4 is likely to deliver significant investigations, numerous high-stress confrontations, and fresh antagonists for us to familiarize ourselves with.
Additionally, we anticipate that the upcoming season will pick up where the thrilling end of season 3 left off, and further explore the fly team’s journey as they adapt to the absence of Special Agent Forrester, who has been an essential part of their operations.
In the concluding episodes of season 3, it became clear that Forrester fled along with his mother, Angela Cassidy. It turned out that she was listed on a Russian detention document, and she had been amassing an enormous pile of proof to bring down the government.
It turns out that the usual procedure for extraditing Angela didn’t work as expected, and it was discovered that Forrester had traveled to Norway in an attempt to save his mother, whom he thought had been taken captive.
The fly squad risked their professions by traveling to Norway without the Norwegian government’s approval, only to discover that the Angela in Arkhangelsk Oblast Prison isn’t the genuine Angela. Instead, portrayed by Teri Polo, this woman is Tess – a U.S. citizen and former military medic.
It appears that Tess and Angela were both involved in the conflict in Ukraine and subsequently detained by Russian authorities. As they grew closer in their shared predicament, it was discovered that Tess had a tattoo on her wrist serving as the secret key to access a dossier of incriminating evidence compiled by Angela.
Tess discloses that Scott had come for his mom, and given the clues he’d unintentionally scattered, it was clear that his group could trace Tess as well, ensuring her safe rescue.
In the episode, it’s eventually revealed that the team discovers Forrester and his mother are traveling to Alaska. To protect their location from Deputy Director Adell, they erase the files containing this information.
In the context of upcoming Season 4, will my actions with The Fly Team potentially land us in hot water? Could we possibly face repercussions or even have a new leader? There’s a chance that someone else within our team might take on this role instead.
Regardless of how our team operates, it’s safe to anticipate some fresh guest appearances as well as potential new regular characters.
Is there a trailer for FBI: International season 4?
As a long-time fan of the FBI franchise, I can’t help but feel a bit impatient as I eagerly wait for the new season of FBI: International to go into production. Having followed the show since its inception, I have grown fond of the characters and storylines, and I am excited to see where the creators will take the series next. However, with no trailer available yet, I find myself checking various online sources daily, hoping for any news or updates on the upcoming season.
In the UK, the third season of FBI: International is airing on Sky Witness and NOW. To catch it, consider signing up for Sky TV here. Both seasons 1 and 2 are also accessible to stream on this platform.
