Nobody 2 Bringing Back Christopher Lloyd

As a gamer with a keen eye for cinematic action and a soft spot for comeback stories, I can’t help but feel the adrenaline surging as the sequel to the 2021 hit film “Nobody” is on its way! The confirmation of Bob Odenkirk’s return, alongside Connie Nielsen and the addition of Sharon Stone as the villain has already set my expectations sky-high.

Hey there fellow gaming enthusiasts! Remember that gripping action flick “Nobody” from a couple of years back, where Bob Odenkirk, known for his role in Better Call Saul, took on the character Hutch Mansell? Well, it turned out to be quite the hit, with an impressive 84% critics score and a staggering 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes!

As reported by Deadline, Lloyd has been confirmed to reprise his role as David Mansel. There’s anticipation about whether another prominent actor from the Nobody series will join – RZA as Harry Mansell. Earlier reports indicated that production for Nobody 2 would start in Winnipeg in August. However, the original film’s director, Ilya Naishuller, will not be part of the sequel. Instead, Timo Tjahjanto (known for The Night Comes For Us) is stepping up as the new director. Derek Kolstad, Aaron Rabin, Umair Aleem, and Odenkirk are working on the script. The movie is currently set to hit theaters in August 2025.

Bob Odenkirk Shares Inspiration Behind Nobody:

Nobody 2 Bringing Back Christopher Lloyd

When the initial “Nobody” film came out, Odenkirk shared during an interview with ComicBook that part of the inspiration for the movie stemmed from “Atomic Blonde”.

“After giving it some serious thought, I must say Charlize Theron absolutely nailed her role in ‘Atomic Blonde’. Her portrayal of an action hero who showed incredible skill yet felt the agony when injured really resonated with me. Our movie shares a similar DNA in that regard. The character in our film will also display these qualities, showing pain during fights and getting worn out – something that’s been missing from action films for quite some time now. I wanted to bring this element into ‘Nobody’, as it adds an authenticity that makes the hero’s struggle more relatable.”

“I aimed to portray a character who endures and suffers increasing pain throughout the film. Unlike traditional action heroes, I wanted to convey uncertainty. A key scene directed by Ilya Naishuller on the bus, where I declare, ‘I’m gonna give you a hard time,’ should show a look in my eyes that questions whether I will succeed, yet hints at my determination.”
