Marvel Manga Covers With Spider-Man and the X-Men Revealed

As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast with a heart full of nostalgia, I can hardly contain my excitement about these latest announcements from Viz Media! The fusion of Marvel’s iconic characters and the Japanese manga style is something that has always appealed to me, and the upcoming releases of Spider-Man: Octo-Girl and X-Men: The Manga: Remastered are no exception.

At San Diego Comic-Con 2024, Viz Media unveiled the covers for upcoming twists on “Superior Spider-Man” and “X-Men: The Animated Series.” These include “Spider-Man: Octo-Girl” and “X-Men: The Manga: Remastered,” which are set to release on October 8th and November 12th respectively. Notably, Viz Media also announced a crossover manga between Ultraman and Spider-Man titled “Ultraman: Along Came a Spider.”

In “Spider-Man: Octo-Girl” Volume 1, written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court (from the series “My Hero Academia: Vigilantes”), the storyline takes inspiration from Marvel Comics’ “Superior Spider-Man”, where the villainous Otto Octavius, known as Doctor Octopus, swapped minds with Peter Parker, the original Spider-Man.

The Manga: Remastered Vol. 1″ gathers the original English comics from the ’90s, which were based on the popular animated series “X-Men: The Animated Series”. These comics were created by several artists including Hiroshi Higuchi, Koji Yasue, Miyako Kojima, Reiji Hagiwara, Rei Nakahara and Hirofumi Ichikawa.

Spider-Man: Octo-Girl Vol. 1

Following a confrontation with Spider-Man, the malevolent scientist Doctor Octopus slips into a coma. Upon awakening, his consciousness finds itself within the body of Otoha Okutamiya, an ordinary child residing in Tokyo. This marks the beginning of an unusual new chapter in the life of Spider-Man’s arch-nemesis…as a schoolgirl!

X-Men: The Manga: Remastered Vol. 1

Back in the day, “X-Men: The Animated Series” was an international hit and an excellent starting point for learning about Marvel’s mutants. Now, after years of absence, the original manga adaptation has made a comeback in print! This revamped and upgraded version comes in a premium edition, making it the must-have collector’s item for X-Men fans everywhere!

In April, a fresh collaboration between Marvel and Viz Digital introduced the Marvel manga series, such as “Deadpool: Samurai,” “Wolverine: Snikt!”, “Spider-Man: Fake Red”, and “Marvel’s Secret Reverse”, to the Shonen Jump app. Later this fall, “Spider-Man: Octo-Girl” and “X-Men: The Manga: Remastered” will be available for purchase in either paperback or digital format.
