Chainsaw Man Nods to The Matrix With a Devil Cameo

As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that Chainsaw Man‘s recent developments have been nothing short of exhilarating! The latest chapter, reminiscent of the iconic Matrix trilogy, has taken our beloved Denji to new heights.

The narrative in the manga “Chainsaw Man” is becoming increasingly intense for Denji, the Chainsaw Devil. This escalation follows significant occurrences within Tatsuki Fujimoto’s popular series, leaving Denji more agitated than ever. Fortunately, Pochita’s full power now has targets to aim at with the publication of chapter 172. In an amusing tribute, one of Denji’s new adversaries executes a move reminiscent of “The Matrix,” referencing the tale that initially captivated audiences with characters such as Neo, Trinity, Morpheus, and their post-apocalyptic world.

Heed this notice: If you haven’t read the most recent Chainsaw Man manga chapter yet (Chapter 172), be aware we’re venturing into spoiler territory. In Chapter 171, readers got to know Devil Special Division 5, a new government squad composed of fresh devils. This group was set up as a looming threat for Denji, the Chainsaw Devil. Despite being defeated, this new ensemble didn’t go down without a fight. One member, who sported a crocodile-like visage, executed a move reminiscent of Trinity, briefly saving her life.

In an instant, the “Crocodile Devil” loses its head, prompting the swift intervention of Special Division 6 by the Japanese government. This team is home to peculiar entities such as the Pill Bug Devil, The Centipede Devil, and the Ear Devil. Quite a curious group indeed. However, these government agents face insurmountable odds when confronting Denji in his berserk state.

In terms of the anime version, it seems we’ll likely have to be patient before witnessing the events unfold in the “Chainsaw Man” anime. As I write this, there hasn’t been any announcement regarding the release date for “Chainsaw Man The Movie: The Reze Arc.” Although this may not equate to a second season, the first film of the series promises some of the wildest and most brutal scenes ever seen in anime.
