As a long-time fan and follower of Bungie since the days of “Marathon” and Halo, I must say that this latest round of layoffs leaves me feeling a bit like an oracle warning of impending doom. The studio’s recent success with “Destiny 2: The Final Shape” should have been a cause for celebration, not concern. But alas, here we are, wondering about the future of Bungie and its potential takeover by PlayStation.
As someone who has spent countless hours immersed in the intricate worlds and captivating stories of Bungie’s games, I find myself deeply troubled by the recent news of mass layoffs at the studio behind Destiny. With a background in game development and a passion for these games, it’s hard not to feel a personal connection to the talented individuals who have been affected by this unfortunate turn of events.
