As a seasoned gamer and horror enthusiast with a knack for collecting physical media, the upcoming 4K Ultra HD Steelbook release of “Thanksgiving” has me all pumped up like a turkey ready to be carved! The eerie art and letter from Eli Roth only add fuel to my anticipation.

A popular horror movie from last year, Eli Roth’s “Thanksgiving,” which previously had a Blu-ray release in the U.S., will now be available in the sought-after 4K Ultra HD format. Fans have been eagerly waiting for this upgrade, and their wish is finally coming true during the Halloween season, courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

As a long-time fan of Sony products and a devoted collector of Steelbooks, I am thrilled by their latest announcement – the Thanksgiving Limited Edition 4K Ultra HD Steelbook! With my deep appreciation for cinematic artistry and my passion for high-definition viewing experiences, this release has caught my eye.

Enthusiasts of the movie were thrilled to discover not long after its premiere that Sony had already approved a follow-up. Director Roth will once again lead production on the second “Thanksgiving” film, slated for release in theaters in 2025.

Prior to the theatrical release of Thanksgiving last year, Roth mentioned to ComicBook that while the movie didn’t explicitly set up a sequel, he and writer Jeff Rendell had contemplated one during the filmmaking process.

As a seasoned filmmaker with a rich history of horror movies under my belt, I can attest that the making of “Thanksgiving” was an unforgettable experience. The camaraderie on set was palpable, and our jovial banter during shooting led to brainstorming sessions about potential spin-offs and sequels. The cast was a dream come true, and reuniting with my longtime collaborator Milan Chadima behind the camera felt like a homecoming. The shoot was fast-paced and intense, leaving us all feeling a sense of melancholy when it came to an end. If “Thanksgiving” proves to be successful, I would jump at the chance to revisit this universe and continue the story.
