Deadpool & Wolverine Star Hugh Jackman Shares Surprising Reunion With Loki's Ke Huy Quan

As a diehard fan of both the Marvel Universe and behind-the-scenes stories, I can’t help but be utterly thrilled by this heartwarming reunion between Hugh Jackman and Ke Huy Quan! It’s truly amazing to see how their paths crossed way back in the first X-Men movie, with Quan being a part of the stunt team that played a pivotal role in shaping Jackman’s action movie training.

Actor Hugh Jackman, famous for playing Deadpool and Wolverine, is having an unexpected encounter with Ke Huy Quan, who played Loki in a past Marvel series. This meeting delves into the past connections between the Fox-Marvel Universe!

I recently shared an Instagram post featuring myself alongside the talented Donnie Yen, who was being honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Reminiscing with fans through a voiceover, I recalled our history that dates back to the first X-Men film in 2000, where Donnie was part of the stunt team. In fact, I owe a great deal of my action movie training to him – a mentorship forged during the filming of that iconic movie!

“One fascinating aspect of the upcoming movie is that it brings back numerous instances that make me value the 25 years I’ve spent portraying Wolverine, as Jackman shared. Interestingly, at the Walk of Fame ceremony for Kevin Feige, I encountered Ke Huy Quan, who recently won an Oscar and has a remarkable career. We worked together on X-Men 1, where he was part of the stunt team. That’s where I learned a lot about action movies and stunts, and it was great to see him again and rekindle our bond.”

Deadpool & Wolverine Star Hugh Jackman Shares Surprising Reunion With Loki's Ke Huy Quan

Currently, it seems as if Ke Huy Quan’s character, Loki from the Time Variance Authority (Ouroboros or O.B.), might be more of a ubiquitous presence than an actual role – given how frequently he appears! It’s astonishing to learn that Quan played a pivotal part in launching Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine character, and this tidbit further enriches the captivating backstage story of creating X-Men (2000). What makes this even more ironic is that Jackman and Quan found themselves together again at an event honoring Kevin Feige – the same man who served as an associate producer on X-Men, and was the one who welcomed Jackman at the airport when he arrived for filming.

Could it be interesting to create either a gripping documentary series or an insightful biographical movie chronicling the production of X-Men (2000)? On the other hand, considering certain troubling aspects related to that film’s creation, perhaps such a project might not be suitable after all…

Deadpool & Wolverine is in theaters. X-Men (2000) is streaming on Disney+.
