As a dedicated fan who has binge-watched every episode of Only Murders in the Building multiple times, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming board game adaptation! The Arconia, with its intriguing characters and mysterious happenings, is a setting that has captivated me since the show’s premiere.
The popular Hulu series, “Only Murders in the Building,” is being transformed into a board game. Funko Games, part of Goliath Games, unveiled this exciting news at Gen Con over the weekend. The game, based on the hit show, will have players search for clues within the Arconia building and connect these clues to identify the murderer residing there. Amazon lists the game, priced at $29, as being available soon.
The popular TV series titled “Only Murders in the Building” features Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez as residents of the Arconia who share an interest in true crime podcasts. When a resident at the Arconia is murdered, they decide to investigate and create their own podcast. As the story unfolds, more murders occur and their podcast gains popularity, leading them to further fame. All three actors have received Golden Globe nominations for their roles on the show.
As a seasoned board game enthusiast who has played countless games from both Funko Games and Goliath Games over the years, I can’t help but feel a sense of curiosity and anticipation as I observe the recent changes in the industry. Having grown fond of many Funko Games, such as “Only Murders in the Building,” it’s intriguing to see how this acquisition will impact the quality and direction of future releases. It’s always bittersweet when talented designers are let go during a company transition, but I’m excited to see what new ideas and innovations the former Funko Games team will bring to their own game design studio. Overall, I’m optimistic about the future of both companies and can’t wait to see how this merger unfolds.
