My Hero Academia Reveals Bakugo's Status

As a seasoned gamer with a heart for anime, I’ve been through the wringer watching the latest twist in My Hero Academia‘s saga. Bakugo, our beloved Murder God Dynamight, was as good as six feet under, but fate (or perhaps the writers) had other plans.

In the anime series “My Hero Academia,” the character God Dynamight, also known as Bakugo, appears to be in a weakened state. Previously, Bakugo, who is known for his explosive and hot-tempered personality, suffered a severe blow from Shigaraki that left viewers doubting his survival. However, due to the 2024 Summer Olympics, fans had to wait an extra week before discovering if Bakugo managed to survive the attack that apparently shattered his heart. Fortunately, the twelfth episode of season seven provides some answers regarding Bakugo’s condition in the closing arc of the series.

Heed this advice: If you haven’t watched the latest episode of My Hero Academia’s anime series, specifically Season Seven Episode 12, beware as we delve into spoiler territory. In the previous episode, it appeared that Bakugo had perished due to severe damage to his heart, lungs, and internal organs. Fortunately, Murder God Dynamight was granted a miraculous reprieve when hero Edgeshot intervened at the last moment. Shinya Kamihara, with his unique Quirk called “Foldabody,” can transform his body into numerous tendrils. This ability turned out to be crucial for Bakugo’s predicament, as it proved perfect for his current situation.

My Hero Academia: Bakugo Lives…Kind Of

To repair Bakugo’s internal injuries, Edgeshot has intricately intertwined his being into the smallest fibers and considers offering his body to replace Dynamight’s heart. This could potentially save Bakugo from the harm inflicted by Shigaraki, but it doesn’t guarantee his recovery. Although Bakugo may have been given a chance to live, Shigaraki remains active in the battlefield.

Whilst Best Jeanist and Edgeshot joined forces to rescue Bakugo, other heroes such as the Big Three and Mirko were tirelessly holding back Shigaraki. Though All For One’s current bearer was hurt by Shigaraki, he created a new defensive shape. Fortunately for the heroes, the last episode ended with Izuku Midoriya making his way back to UA Academy, dealing a significant hit to Shigaraki.
