As a lifelong WWE fan who’s seen my fair share of SummerSlams, I must say that this year’s event was nothing short of thrilling! The Bayley vs. Nia Jax match was a testament to women’s wrestling, showcasing raw power and skill in equal measure. The back-and-forth action kept me on the edge of my seat, and I found myself yelling at the screen more times than I can count!
After several rounds of verbal sparring, it had been long-awaited for WWE Women’s Champion Bayley and Queen of the Ring Nia Jax to square off face-to-face at SummerSlam. The exchange of insults intensified over the last fortnight, with those words proving pivotal during their encounter. At one juncture, Bayley managed to hoist up Jax and perform a powerbomb, but it wasn’t sufficient. In similar fashion, Jax executed an Annihilator on Bayley, yet it was insufficient for a victory via pin. Tiffany Stratton made her appearance during the bout, but surprisingly, she ended up aiding Jax, who followed up with two more Annihilators on Bayley to secure the pinfall and emerge victorious. With Stratton by her side, Jax triumphantly stood as the new WWE Women’s Champion.
A Bitter Rivalry
Without delay, Bayley and Jax clashed head-on, but Bayley swiftly entwined Jax’s arm in the ropes and struck his arm, visibly weakening the challenger. Jax managed to lift the Champ, only to be met with a jaw-jarring blow. However, Jax retaliated by deflecting Bayley’s attack into a swift slam. Subsequently, Jax hurled Bayley across the ring, followed by another powerful slam, a heavy elbow drop, and finally, he sat on Bayley, forcing her against the lower rope.
After cornering Champ, Jax delivered some chops followed by a stinkface. Subsequently, she transitioned into a cobra clutch. Bayley managed to rise and executed an impressive suplex, but Jax promptly got up. Bayley shoved her back to the mat with a powerful shoulder tackle. Later, Bayley skillfully avoided Jax, causing her to tumble to the floor.
In this wrestling match, Jax managed to grab hold of Bayley’s foot and dragged her towards the ring’s border. However, just as Jax was about to deliver a leg drop, Bayley broke free. Instead, it was Jax who ended up landing painfully. Then, Bayley launched an attack, but they both returned to the ring. In response, Jax hoisted Bayley into a vertical suplex, but Bayley countered with a guillotine maneuver. Despite this, Jax continued by lifting Bayley and slamming her down face-first onto the mat. This was followed by a rolling senton and another leg drop, but Bayley miraculously managed to kick out of the pin attempt.
Pulling Out All the Stops
In the ring, Jax climbed to the second rope for a leg drop, but Bayley swiftly moved out of harm’s way, leaving Jax momentarily breathless. Seizing the opportunity, Bayley executed a Bayley to Belly and attempted a pin, only for Jax to show resilience and avoid defeat. Bayley followed up with the Rose Plant, yet Jax expertly dodged. In response, Jax delivered an Ura-nage, asserting her dominance as the Champ.
As a devoted fan, I watched in awe as Jax launched another assault, but swift Bayley sprang back to her feet just as impressively. With a Herculean effort, she hoisted Jax, slamming the challenger with a thunderous powerbomb. The Flying Elbow followed, and Bayley pinned her opponent, only for Jax to miraculously kick out.
