One Piece Creator Marks My Hero Academia Finale With Special Sketch

As a gamer with a soft spot for anime and manga, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia as My Hero Academia comes to an end. I remember the days when I first stumbled upon this gem a decade ago, back when it was just a humble newcomer in the world of Shonen Jump. Fast forward to today, and it’s become a cultural phenomenon that has captured the hearts of millions worldwide.

As a devoted fan, it’s bittersweet to witness the conclusion of such a remarkable series like “My Hero Academia.” Over the past decade, Creator Kohei Horikoshi has breathed life into this exceptional superhero tale, elevating it to heights few could achieve before. Today, “My Hero Academia” stands as an icon in the industry, and with its final chapter recently unveiled on Shonen Jump, the anticipation is palpable. To add to the emotional farewell, the creator of the legendary series “One Piece” has penned a heartfelt tribute that leaves us all feeling a deep sense of nostalgia and admiration for this extraordinary journey.

The chapter released this week for One Piece was personally created by Eiichiro Oda, and features a sketch of Smoker on its cover. Some might find the cover art as random, but if you’re familiar with Horikoshi, you may recall that he submitted a drawing of Smoker to Oda back in 2015.

In a particular issue of SBS, an artwork by Horikoshi was featured, which Oda acknowledged as a token of gratitude for a gift. At that point, My Hero Academia was only a year old and had not yet achieved its current level of fame. Being a fan of One Piece, Horikoshi submitted a sketch of Smoker. Since then, Horikoshi and Oda have developed a friendship based on their common interests such as Pokemon Go. Now that My Hero Academia has concluded, Oda decided to replicate the artwork that Horikoshi created for him, reminiscing about their past.

Not only that, but this tribute by Oda truly embodies the essence of great friendship. Everyone will undoubtedly be moved to tears by it.

Oda’s unique gesture underscores the deep respect he holds for Horikoshi, as this particular recognition is seldom bestowed. Notably, the creator of “One Piece” last paid tribute to the end of another Shonen Jump series by designing a chapter cover in 2014. It was during this time that “Naruto” wrapped up its original run in November, prompting Oda to express gratitude towards Masashi Kishimoto for his tireless efforts. In a similar vein, the creator of “One Piece” has now extended the same gesture to Horikoshi, causing online communities to feel a bit emotional about this honor.

If you haven’t dived into “My Hero Academia” yet, that’s perfectly fine! You can easily catch up with the entire series by downloading the Shonen Jump app. For a quick overview of the storyline, here’s a summary of “My Hero Academia”:

Since his childhood, Izuku yearned to become a hero – an aspiration many would find daunting, but for him, it was particularly tough given he lacked superpowers, a common trait in a world where eight out of ten people possess some sort of supernatural ability. Despite his ordinary status, Izuku didn’t let that deter him from seeking admission into one of the world’s top hero academies.
