McDonald's Teams With Pokemon on New Happy Meal

As a seasoned gamer and Pokemon enthusiast with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia upon hearing about McDonald’s teaming up with Pokemon for their new Happy Meal. Growing up, I vividly remember the excitement of collecting those little plastic figures, and the thrill of finding that elusive rare one in my meal. It seems that the tradition continues, this time with characters from Pokemon Horizons: The Series.

McDonald’s is partnering with Pokemon for an upcoming international Happy Meal release. The Pokemon franchise has just celebrated the first anniversary of its latest anime series, “Pokemon Horizons: The Series,” which premiered this Spring. This new series has moved away from Ash Ketchum as the central character and instead follows a fresh group of adventurers on their journey from the beginning. Each episode in Japan continues to unfold this captivating story, and due to its popularity, it’s now collaborating with McDonald’s for a special Happy Meal.

McDonald’s Japan frequently collaborates with anime projects, showcasing partnerships like those with “Kiki’s Delivery Service,” “Jujutsu Kaisen,” and others in the past. It also has a long-standing relationship with Pokémon, having released numerous Happy Meals and collectibles featuring the iconic creatures. Beginning August 9th in Japan, McDonald’s Japan will introduce new Happy Meal toys themed around “Pokémon Horizons: The Series.” Check out the promotional video for the latest Pokémon Happy Meal collaboration below.

How to Watch Pokemon Horizons

In Japan, fresh episodes of “Pokemon Horizons: The Series” are being aired weekly, while they’ve been quarterly on Netflix. Two parts with a total of 23 episodes are currently available for streaming, and the third part will debut later this week, offering only the English dubbed version. For fans wondering about the new phase of the “Pokemon” anime without Ash as the main character, The Pokemon Company hints that “Pokemon Horizons: The Series” will offer an intriguing experience.

Embarking on an exhilarating journey through the expansive realm of Pokémon, I find myself at Indigo Academy, where a girl named Liko gets her first companion Pokémon, Sprigatito. However, she’s quickly chased by a secretive group known as the Explorers, who covet the pendant necklace she wears. Fortunately, I’m not alone in this adventure, as Friede, Captain Pikachu, and the rest of the Rising Volt Tacklers provide me protection on their airship. Meanwhile, a boy named Roy is unaware that he carries a secret within an Ancient Poké Ball. As Liko, Roy, and the Rising Volt Tacklers navigate towards uncharted territories, what extraordinary discoveries await us?
