As a devoted fan of Richard Osman and his enchanting Thursday Murder Club series, I eagerly await each new installment with bated breath. His books are more than just whodunits; they are a delightful blend of humor, wit, and heart that keep me engaged from cover to cover.
As we anxiously anticipate further updates about Netflix’s version of Thursday Murder Club, its creator, Richard Osman, is diligently writing a new addition to the novel series.
Posting a photo of a notepad labeled “TTMC 5” on Instagram, Osman captioned it as follows: “A fresh book begins its journey.”
The popular TV host and author known for the Thursday Murder Club book series seems to be brainstorming ideas for his fifth novel, a development that hasn’t dampened fan enthusiasm one bit.
In the comments section of the Instagram post, fans swiftly proposed some possible storylines that Osman might incorporate into his novel. One fan penned: “I’m hoping Joy discovers romance,” and another added: “A wedding is essential (with a murder investigation unfolding amidst the festivities throughout the ceremony and reception).”
It’s fair to assume that dedicated readers often develop their unique visions for where they’d like the series to go next.
At present, we’re left in anticipation as we await more news from Osman. However, a thrilling movie version of the popular book is on its way, as production started last month as confirmed.
As a longtime fan of mystery novels and a lover of British cinema, I must say that the upcoming Thursday Murder Club seems right up my alley. Having grown up reading Agatha Christie and watching Poirot, this cast of Dame Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Celia Imrie, and Sir Ben Kingsley is nothing short of a dream come true. Their collective talent and experience in the industry promises to deliver an engaging and captivating storyline, one that I can’t wait to dive into. With a background in mystery-solving myself (although not quite on par with these esteemed actors), I’m eagerly anticipating the intrigue and suspense that this murder-solving quartet will bring to our screens.
Additionally, Jonathan Pryce, Naomi Ackie, David Tennant, Daniel Mays, and Henry Lloyd-Hughes will also make an appearance.
At present, the franchise consists of four novels: the first one being Osman’s initial publication from 2020, followed by ‘The Man Who Died Twice’ in 2021, ‘The Bullet That Missed’ in 2022, and most recently, ‘The Last Devil to Die’ in 2023.
Excitedly anticipating, I’m looking forward to the publication of Osman’s upcoming novel sometime in 2025, and though the release date for the accompanying film remains undetermined, I can hardly wait to immerse myself in both!
