WWE SmackDown: Roman Reigns’s Television Return Date Revealed

WWE SmackDown: Roman Reigns's Television Return Date Revealed

As a diehard WWE fan with decades of wrestling fervor coursing through my veins, let me tell you, I was on the edge of my seat during this year’s SummerSlam! The moment Roman Reigns strode back onto the scene was electrifying, a testament to the raw power and charisma he exudes.

The One Tribal Chief is back. In the late stages of Cody Rhodes’s WWE Championship defense against Solo Sikoa at WWE SummerSlam, the WWE WrestleMania 40 remix of “Head of the Table” echoed throughout Cleveland Browns Stadium. Emerging from the stage was Roman Reigns, making his first televised appearance since losing the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Rhodes this past April. Reigns made a methodical walk down the entranceway as commentary questioned who he was coming for: Rhodes, his longtime rival, or Sikoa, the man who seized his Tribal Chief status during his absence. Picking up speed as he neared the ring, Reigns slid under the ropes and immediately struck Sikoa with a Superman Punch before setting him up for a spear.

Following the arrangement of Sikoa, Reigns eyed Rhodes cautiously before subtly tipping his head and stepping away towards the rear.

WWE SmackDown: Roman Reigns's Television Return Date Revealed

The next chapter of Roman Reigns’s career begins this Friday.

According to WWE.com, Roman Reigns has been listed for the August 9th episode of SmackDown, which will be his first television appearance for WWE since the April Fool’s Day edition of Monday Night Raw. It remains unclear if Reigns will deliver a speech or merely make an appearance on the broadcast.

On WWE’s internal roster, Reigns is now classified as a babyface character – this is his first stint as a good guy since March 2020. In the near future, he’s predicted to clash with Solo Sikoa and The New Bloodline. The main storyline that fans can look forward to involves a potential match against Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

2021 promises an exhilarating finale, according to WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, hinting at the WWE SummerSlam post-show press conference. Everyone’s currently enjoying themselves, and that’s the best part, he added, as they all continue to push forward. If his predictions hold true, it seems we’re in for an even more spectacular show!

WWE SmackDown goes down this Friday, August 9th.
