Deadpool & Wolverine Fans Organize a Screening Only For People Named Ryan

As a lifelong comic book fan and avid gamer, I can wholeheartedly say that the recent cinematic crossover of Deadpool & Wolverine has truly been the highlight of my summer. Growing up with these characters, I never thought I’d see the day they’d share the big screen like this.

A group of ardent followers of Ryan Reynolds gathered for an exclusive viewing of Deadpool and Wolverine. Two weeks into the launch of Deadpool and Wolverine, fans are still basking in the excitement sparked by the on-screen reunion between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. By now, one hopes that no one has been spoiled by the numerous cameos scattered throughout the movie. This week, Deadpool and Wolverine’s director, Shawn Levy, officially unveiled these cameos on social media. Cinemas across the nation were filled with fans of the Marvel Universe, but what if a crowd of individuals who share Ryan Reynolds’ first name had gathered to cheer for Deadpool and Wolverine?

In the realm of gaming, it felt like I was part of an epic quest when a packed theater was filled with fellow gamers named “Ryan” for the screening of Deadpool & Wolverine. We all decked out in red T-shirts emblazoned with the iconic Deadpool & Wolverine logo, echoing our unified chant of “Ryan, Ryan, Ryan!” This epic gathering, dubbed the Ryan Meet-Up, unfolded on July 27th. Each of us donned Ryan-themed T-shirts generously provided by the man himself.

As a final touch, the Ryan Gathering was graced by a Hugh, reminiscent of the famous actor Hugh Jackman from Wolverine. But this particular Hugh isn’t your ordinary one – his real name is Hugh Ryan.

Ryan Reynolds campaigns for more of Wesley Snipes’ Blade

Ryan Reynolds expresses a desire to give Wesley Snipes’ character Blade the same kind of cinematic treatment as Hugh Jackman in “Logan.” The film “Deadpool & Wolverine” was the first X-Men movie produced by Marvel Studios, with earlier productions belonging to 20th Century Fox. Before Ryan Reynolds played Deadpool, he worked alongside Wesley Snipes in “Blade: Trinity” as Hannibal King in 2004. In “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Reynolds reprised Snipes’ role as Blade, one of several unexpected guest stars in the film. Now, Reynolds is also acknowledging Snipes’ significant contribution to launching the Fox Marvel Universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Ryan Reynolds posted on X (previously Twitter) that there wouldn’t be a Marvel Universe like the Fox Marvel Universe or MCU without Wesley Snipes’ Blade paving the way. He’s often referred to as ‘Marvel Daddy.’ He also shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the Deadpool & Wolverine set, debunking rumors of tension between them. Reynolds seems to be advocating for another chance for Wesley Snipes as Blade, similar to how Hugh Jackman returned for one last Wolverine film (Logan) in 2017.”
