Disney+ and Hulu Raising Prices This Fall

Disney+ and Hulu Raising Prices This Fall

As a long-time subscriber of both Disney+ and Hulu, I must admit that I have grown accustomed to the magical world of streaming these platforms provide. However, with the recent announcement of yet another price increase, I find myself grappling with the question: “Do I love Disney and Hulu, or do I love my hard-earned cash?”

Disney+ and Hulu’s subscription fees are going up for a third time, as companies shift their focus from amassing subscribers to generating profits. Last year, Disney boosted the prices of Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, and they plan to raise them again this fall, as reported by Deadline. Although the cost is increasing, users can expect additional content, including live playlists catering to news and preschoolers, which should delight parents. Most subscription plans will see their prices rise from October 17th onward.

As a long-time Disney fan who grew up watching their classic movies and cartoons, I was initially taken aback by the news of the upcoming price increase for both Disney+ and Hulu. However, upon further reflection, I realized that this move is actually a smart strategy on Disney’s part. With the sheer amount of content they have been producing and acquiring over the past few years, it makes sense that they would need to raise prices in order to continue investing in new projects and improving the quality of their service.

In simpler terms, Disney+ President Alisa Bowen stated that playlists are now part of our commitment to delivering top-notch content and enjoyment to our subscribers whenever they log into Disney+. This includes news, children’s programs, trending genres, hit series, and blockbuster movies – ensuring there’s always something appealing for everyone, tailored to the seasons and personal preferences in a relaxing viewing experience.
