As a dedicated observer of public figures and their personal lives, I find myself deeply saddened by the ongoing rift between Elon Musk and his daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson. Having followed Elon’s journey for many years, it is heartbreaking to see such a renowned innovator and entrepreneur struggle with family relationships.

In response to my father’s controversial remarks about a supposed “woke mind virus” impact on his transgender daughter, I, as a dedicated follower and supporter of her identity, am standing up yet again to address his comments. My 20-year-old sister is not merely a subject in this discourse; she is a vibrant individual who deserves love, respect, and understanding.
On this occasion, Vivian reacted to a picture shared from X (previously known as Twitter), now under Elon’s ownership, that depicted an old photograph of Elon and some of his sons. The post was labeled by a fan as “Despite Elon Musk’s hectic schedule, he always found time for his family, demonstrating that family is the most valuable.” In response to the picture, which included a young Vivian, Elon commented, “All five boys were extremely joyful.”
To which Vivian quickly issued her reply on X’s rival social media platform Threads.
In her post on Meta app on August 6th, she expressed that it appears you’re attempting to present yourself as a ‘compassionate, paternal figure,’ which she finds unacceptable. To put it frankly, she believes your constant spreading of false information about her in interviews, books, and social media platforms is nothing short of pitiful.
She went on in the long conversation, “I get that you’re trying to project this image of a ‘western values/family man based on Christianity,’ but it seems quite unusual, given your history. To be frank, you are not a family man; rather, you’ve been involved in multiple extramarital affairs. Moreover, you’ve made numerous false claims about your own offspring. As for being a Christian, I don’t believe you’ve ever set foot in a church.”
More recently, Elon, who is a father to eleven kids across three relationships, has openly discussed his faith in Christianity. On July 27th, he expressed on platform X: “If we don’t show more courage to defend what is just and righteous, Christianity may dwindle or disappear.”
Vivian, one of Elon’s five children from his former marriage with Justine Wilson, likewise refuted Elon’s assertions that their estranged bond stemmed from her liberal academic background.
“As a lifestyle advisor, I’d like to clarify that the assertion about someone being ‘a neomarxist/communist who was brainwashed at high school to identify as trans and view wealth as evil’ is not only misguided but also disrespectful. If you’re going to fabricate stories about someone, why resort to such an outlandish and intellectually dishonest narrative? It’s not just foolish, it’s pathetic. Moreover, intentionally misgendering someone, as you’ve done, is painfully transparent and truly unfortunate.”
In the end, Vivian expressed her strong criticism by saying, “Your ability to deceive us, despite remaining a mystery, has left me disheartened about our species’ credulity.”

Last month, Vivian spoke out in response to her father’s derogatory remarks about her transgender identity, and his claims he was “tricked” into allowing her to receive gender-affirming care.
In a July 25 interview with NBC News, she described her father as being unfeeling and self-centered. She remembered an incident from the fourth grade where he reportedly criticized her harshly for her tone of voice. He would frequently yell at her in a mean-spirited manner because she spoke too softly. It was painful and unfair.
Additionally, she pointed out that their separation started well before she revealed her identity as transgender at age 16, mentioning that he often became upset easily and was scarcely around for approximately 10% of her growing-up years.
In my perspective as a lifestyle advisor, although I don’t personally know the intricacies of Vivian’s family dynamics, it’s clear that her bond with her mother, Justine, remains strong and supportive. Despite the complexities surrounding her relationships with her father and siblings—including X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl, Techno Mechanicus, twins Strider and Azure, and a third child with partner Shivon Zilis—Vivian can count on Justine standing by her side.
“She’s very supportive,” she said. “I love her a lot.”
