As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for horror and a soft spot for Universal Studios events, I can confidently say that this year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood is shaping up to be an absolute nightmare in the best possible way!
Every year, I can’t wait for the Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando and Hollywood! They both share some terrifying haunted houses, often celebrating the scariest horror franchises out there. But Universal Studios in Hollywood has a trick up its sleeve – the “Terror Tram” experience. Normally, it takes fans on a tour of the legendary movie studio’s backlot, but during Halloween, it transforms into something truly unsettling. This year, the Terror Tram is paying tribute to various icons from Blumhouse Productions films, and that’s not all! The musical sensation, The Weeknd, is making a return to Halloween Horror Nights to scare the living daylights out of us with an entirely new house. The fun starts on Thursday, September 5th in Hollywood, and runs on selected nights up until Sunday, November 3rd. I can hardly wait!
According to a press statement, “The Weeknd is one of the 21st century’s most influential musicians and this enigmatic superstar has consistently broken records year after year. In 2022, he collaborated with Halloween Horror Nights to create the popular haunted house, ‘The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare,’ inspired by his hugely successful ‘After Hours’ album. This year, he is back with ‘The Weeknd: Nightmare Trilogy,’ offering fans a unique, one-of-a-kind horror experience filled with surprises at every turn and music by The Weeknd, scored by esteemed producer, artist, and seven-time Grammy award winner Mike Dean.”
The thrilling Terror Tram at Universal Studios Hollywood is making a comeback in full force! For all you horror enthusiasts, get ready to embark on a terrifying adventure across the Universal Studios backlot and come face-to-face with some of Blumhouse’s iconic horror characters from beloved franchises such as M3GAN, The Black Phone, Freaky, The Purge, and Happy Death Day. And here’s an extra treat for those who upgrade their event tickets to the R.I.P. Tour – themed photo opportunities at the Jupiter’s Claim set from the blockbuster film Nope!
Carrying on the tradition, Leatherface comes back with a terrifying appearance in Halloween Horror Nights, presenting “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy of Leatherface.” This haunted house will introduce a new storyline honoring the 50th anniversary of the 1974 slasher movie. Located within an abandoned slaughterhouse, guests will meet various versions of Leatherface from all nine films in the series, avoiding his unyielding chainsaw at each step. Furthermore, “The Purge: Dangerous Waters” comes back to the WaterWorld venue, offering a thrilling, rock-filled journey as visitors battle to stay alive during the night.
To complete their horror experience, guests will find various terrifying sections scattered throughout the park, especially for those who love frightening encounters. Following their journey through ‘Monstruos 2: The Nightmares of Latin America’ haunted house, visitors will stumble upon ‘Luchadores Monstruosos,’ a fresh scare zone. As they start their spine-chilling night at Halloween Horror Nights, fans must initially evade a pack of chainsaw wielding killers in ‘Chainsaw Punkz.’ Then, they’ll have to be cautious and dodge the gothic-themed court of the deceased in ‘Skull Lordz.’ A menacing group called ‘Murder of Crowz’ will gather in a newly designated area, featuring the debut of mama crow at her nest.
Here is one way of paraphrasing the given text in natural and easy-to-read language: “New thrilling experiences have been added to the previously announced lineup of haunted houses. These include ‘A Quiet Place,’ a critically acclaimed franchise from Paramount Pictures, ‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,’ a horror-comedy by Sony Pictures, ‘Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines’ featuring classic Universal monsters, the latest installment in Blumhouse’s terrifying film series ‘Insidious: The Further,’ a sequel to the 2023 hit haunted house ‘Monstruous 2: The Nightmares of Latin America,’ and an original concept house called ‘Dead Exposure: Death Valley,’ which features petrifying radioactive zombies.”
The spine-tingling Halloween Horror Nights begin at Universal Studios Hollywood on Thursday, September 5th and run selected evenings up until Sunday, November 3rd.
