As a devoted follower reporting, I was taken into custody in the wee hours of August 7th, as per Missouri State Highway Patrol records viewed by TopMob News. The charges against me include possession of illicit substances – specifically, four ecstasy pills – and lack of valid auto insurance.
The arrest occurred at 4:45 AM in Nelly’s hometown of St. Louis, M.O., and stemmed from a failure to appear for a warrant for a previous traffic charge of not having insurance, according Missouri State Highway Patrol via NBC News. The warrant violation was discovered when the 49-year-old was asked to show his ID to state troopers stationed at the Hollywood Casino in St. Charles, a Missouri State Highway Patrol told TMZ.
Later on, police searched Nelly (whose real name is Cornell Haynes II). During this search, they discovered four ecstasy pills he had on him. According to reports, the renowned rapper known for “Ride Wit Me” was taken into custody at the Maryland Heights Police Department but has since been freed.
TopMob News has reached out to Nelly’s rep for comment but has not heard back yet.
News surfaces about Nelly’s arrest, which follows less than four months since Nelly and Ashanti announced their engagement and pregnancy expectations. Subsequently, it was disclosed that they had secretly married in December 2023, as reported by TMZ. The union was officially recognized in St. Louis County.
Their wedding ceremony is deeply rooted in a lengthy past shared by Nelly and Ashanti, who were once romantic partners around the turn of the millennium before parting ways in 2013. However, in September 2023, Nelly officially announced that they had reignited their relationship.
