As I delve into the lives of these remarkable individuals participating in “Celebrity Race Across the World,” I am truly captivated by their diverse backgrounds and the experiences they bring to the table.
Reflecting on how it felt just yesterday when Alfie and Owen triumphantly reached the finish line in Lombok earlier this year, I’m excited to share that we’re embarking on another thrilling journey for the Race Across the World! This time, it’s my turn to be part of the adventure.
On Wednesday, 14th August at 9pm, the star-studded version of the challenging BBC One show is coming back. Four famous figures and their closest companions will participate in an extraordinary race unlike any other.
During this season, the contestants are about to experience an unforgettable 12,500-kilometer race. Their adventure kicks off in Belém, up north in Brazil, and it’s their goal to cross the finish line located in Frutillar, situated in the southern region of Chile within the Andes.
However, let’s delve into the identities of the stars participating in this year’s edition of Celebrity Race Across the World.

Kelly Brook

Kelly Brook is both a model and an actress who has made appearances in various movies, television shows, and programs such as Survival Island, Fishtales, Celebrity Juice, and Britain’s Got Talent.
Apart from these, she’s danced on Strictly Come Dancing, baked for The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off, and participated in The Masked Dancer as well.
In the upcoming Race Across the World competition, Kelly will join forces with her spouse, Jeremy Parisi, who they married last year (2022).
The idea of participating in the race originated from Kelly’s representative. In an interview with TopMob magazine, she shared: “Jeremy and I spent our entire weekend watching all the series together. I honestly couldn’t imagine enduring an eight-hour train ride without my phone!”
1) “Since we’d recently tied the knot without taking our honeymoon yet, the moment felt perfect for this adventure; it presented an opportunity for us to experience something truly out of our ordinary routines. Moreover, Jeremy, a native Italian born and raised in France, has exceptional language skills.”
Jeremy echoed this and added: “We’d done so much travelling together, but nothing this special.”
Scott Mills
Age: 51
Job: Radio DJ

Scott Mills primarily works as a radio host and presenter, with his most recognized role being the host of BBC Radio 1 between 2004 and 2022. Currently, listeners can catch his broadcasts on BBC Radio 2.
Mill’s television appearances include shows such as Mastermind, Children in Need, and Strictly Come Dancing, where he ranked 11th alongside his dancing partner Joanne Clifton.
Apart from his main role, the presenter is well recognized as a UK commentator for the annual Eurovision Song Contest, a position he resumed earlier this year.
Scott will run the race with his spouse, Sam (who was then his fiancé), and the host referred to the show as “the craziest” experience they’ve ever had.
“During an interview with TopMob magazine, I shared my experience: Arriving in Brazil was no walk in the park – it was almost 50 degrees and incredibly humid, making me feel drenched all the time. It felt more like a challenging adventure rather than a honeymoon, as we had just returned from our wedding in sunny Spain.”
Regarding Sam, he didn’t have any specific plans or anticipations. In his own words, “A week prior to our departure, I got myself ready both mentally and physically by jogging around the garden while carrying a heavy pack.”
“I didn’t realize how draining it would be, mentally. Looking back, it was both an amazing and terrible experience – the most challenging one I’ve faced yet.”
Jeff Brazier
Age: 45
Job: TV presenter

After gaining popularity as a competitor on Shipwrecked, Jeff Brazier has since become a television host, known for programs like I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! NOW!, Finders Keepers, and This Morning.
Besides these, he’s been involved in numerous entertainment programs such as Celebrity MasterChef, Dancing with Ice-Skates (or simply Dancing on Ice), and Celebrity Special Forces: Who Takes the Challenge (or Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins).
Jeff and his son Freddie will run the race together, and they’ve expressed their feelings about its difficulty to TopMob Magazine.
Jeff stated, “I have strong faith in my bond with Fred, and I truly believed nothing could tear us apart. However, the challenge of a language barrier soon emerged and complications followed.”
For Freddie, it was challenging to endure the night bus journey, as his mind seemed relentless in its thinking.
Kola Bokinni
Age: 32
Job: Actor

Kola Bokinni is set to participate in the competition, where he’ll team up with his cousin, Mary-Ellen. They are eagerly anticipating an unprecedented adventure, and they believe there could be no more suitable venue for such an experience than Race Across the World.
“It’s not so many times that you get to do something like this,” said Bokinni.
As someone who has spent my career traveling for work, always stepping into other characters and roles, I’ve yearned to showcase myself and share the experiences of my family. This opportunity presents a chance to do just that – to reveal our true selves, test our mettle, and explore new aspects of life and the world together. It’s an exciting prospect to step out from behind the curtain and embrace a different side of existence.
Bokinni gained recognition for portraying Isaac in the Apple TV+ series, Ted Lasso. Prior to this, he had a role in an episode of Black Mirror and in Top Boy.
Regarding their ability to coexist during the race, Kola shared with TopMob magazine that he was able to “live for five weeks with my young cousin without causing harm to one another”.
“Mary Ellen stated, ‘It turns out Kola is actually quite shy.’ He was incredibly reserved around new people, but that changed if they recognized him from Ted Lasso.”
The global competition titled “Race Across the World” featuring celebrities will debut on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 9 pm on Wednesday, 14th August 2024.
