Wolfs: George Clooney and Brad Pitt’s New Movie Gets Sequel Greenlight Before Premiere

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for movies that blend action, comedy, and drama seamlessly, I must say I’m thrilled about the upcoming release of ‘Wolfs’. The prospect of seeing George Clooney and Brad Pitt sharing the screen once again, this time as co-leads, is simply exhilarating!

The upcoming film, titled “Wolfs,” from the director of “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Jon Watts, is set to have a sequel prepared even before its official release, despite initial plans to reduce its theater screenings. This movie, featuring George Clooney and Brad Pitt in leading roles, will initially be shown in select theaters before it makes its way to Apple TV+ in late September. Interestingly, Apple seems to be very satisfied with the film as they’ve already agreed on a follow-up. The action-comedy brings back the star duo from “Ocean’s Eleven” for an adventure about two individuals who refer to themselves as lone wolves, who are compelled to team up for a massive criminal operation.

The movie titled “Wolves” is set to debut at the Venice Film Festival towards the beginning of next month. Approximately two weeks after that, specifically on September 20th, it will have a one-week, limited run in theaters. Following this, starting from September 27th, it will be available on Apple TV+.

“Matt Dentler, head of Apple Original Films, praised ‘Wolfs’ as a major motion picture that underscores the high-quality entertainment offerings on Apple TV+. He noted the exceptional collaboration between George, Brad, and director Jon Watts which seamlessly combines humor, action, and drama into an immensely enjoyable movie. By premiering the film in theaters initially before making it accessible to Apple TV+ viewers, we’re merging the best aspects of theater and streaming experiences. We can’t wait to see how audiences react as we embark on creating a sequel with Jon.”

Apart from the Ocean’s Eleven trilogy, Pitt and Clooney have also teamed up in movies like Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Burn After Reading, and John Krasinski’s comedy If. Notably, these films mark their first time sharing the lead roles, as opposed to being part of larger ensembles.

According to the official summary, in the movie “Wolfs,” Clooney portrays a skilled troubleshooter tasked with concealing a major crime’s evidence. However, when another troubleshooter (Pitt) unexpectedly appears on the scene, these two independent operators are compelled to collaborate. As they do so, their night takes an unanticipated turn for the worse in ways neither of them foresaw. The film also features Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, Poorna Jagannathan, Richard Kind, and Zlatko Buri?. (In this version, I’ve tried to make it more conversational and easier to read.)

Jon Watts and Dianne McGunigle are set to produce the movie. Additionally, Clooney and Grant Heslov will produce it through Smokehouse Pictures, while Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner will do so for Plan B Entertainment. Michael Beugg serves as an executive producer.
