My Hero Academia Time Skip Turns Izuku Into Anime's Iron Man

As a long-time fan of My Hero Academia, I must say that the manga’s ending was nothing short of spectacular! I remember when Deku started off as a powerless kid with big dreams, and now here he is, inspiring the next generation of heroes.

The manga conclusion of My Hero Academia features a significant jump in time, addressing long-standing queries from fans regarding the ultimate destination of protagonist, Izuku Midoriya.

As a devoted fan of MHA, I’ve been on this incredible journey alongside Dekzu from day one – the powerless protagonist with dreams beyond his reach. But everything changed when he inherited One For All, that remarkable, benevolent power.

In the concluding chapter of My Hero Academia, a time jump of eight years is employed. We encounter an older Izuku Midoriya, now serving as an instructor at U.A. High School following the extinction of One For All within him. Alongside his previous mentor, Aizawa, he spends his days. Although he doesn’t interact with them frequently, he maintains contact with his old classmates who have gone on to become renowned pro heroes and activists in society.

In the epilogue, there’s a mix of sweetness and sadness, as Midoriya realizes he won’t fulfill his dream of becoming the great pro hero he once imagined. Instead, we see him leap into action yet again, but this time without his powers to save a boy from falling. This act, however, wins him a new fan who thinks his quirk power is worthless. Meeting the legendary Deku in person and observing Izuku assess his abilities and plan how to improve them, gives the young boy hope that he too can become a hero of consequence. And though Izuku may no longer be able to save people with his powers, inspiring the next generation of heroes is a strength that nobody can take away from him.

How Deku Becomes MHA Iron Man

My Hero Academia Time Skip Turns Izuku Into Anime's Iron Man

In summary, the manga of My Hero Academia features an additional scene after the credits where Izuku arrives at U.A. High School to find All Might waiting for him with a special gift – a high-tech armor suit. This armored suit was developed by American tech genius Melissa Shield and prodigy Mei Hatsume from the Support Class, and funded by Izuku’s former classmates, particularly Bakugo. The design of the armor is based on data collected during All Might’s final battle against All For One in his own armored suit. With this new armor, Deku is now set to advance hero technology even further, as it can mimic abilities and adapt as it gathers fresh data. The final image shows Deku resuming his duties as a hero, standing proudly with his Class 1-A friends by his side.

In this final scene, there’s a sense of inspiration, as it demonstrates that Midoriya’s powerlessness can be overcome through his courageous spirit and sharp mind, which remain his most potent “superpowers.” If My Hero Academia ever resumes, witnessing Deku in his ‘Iron Man’ phase would be equally thrilling as observing him master OFA; if the story concludes, it offers a soothing assurance that Deku’s aspirations endure.
