As a tech enthusiast who has been following the DOOM series since its early days, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and nostalgia at the news that DOOM Eternal is getting official mod support. The fact that id Software is making the same toolkit used in the game’s development available to players speaks volumes about their commitment to the community.

At this year’s QuakeCon 2024 launch event, I was thrilled to learn that id Software has decided to offer official mod support for DOOM Eternal! They’re even releasing the same toolkit they used to create the game, giving us players an opportunity to effortlessly design and share our very own mods.
At present, the mod system for DOOM Eternal is under a trial phase while the team collects user feedback. If you’re keen to experience it early, you can opt in and give it a try.
