As a seasoned film enthusiast with a penchant for the fantastical and a soft spot for witches, I must say that I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming Disney Plus spin-off, Agatha All Along! The trailer unveiled at D23 has certainly whetted my appetite for this intriguing series.

The powerful antagonist of WandaVision, Agatha Harkness portrayed by Kathryn Hahn, is returning to our screens with a dedicated Disney Plus series titled Agatha All Along. We now possess the official trailer for this upcoming show!

The trailer for “Agatha All Along” was unveiled during last Friday’s (August 9th) D23 fan convention, offering us a sneak peek at the storyline where Anna Hahn’s character, Harkness, forms a coven to confront a series of challenges collectively known as “Witches’ Road.”

According to the summary, “Agatha Harkness, known for her notorious reputation, loses her power following an enigmatic teen with a gothic flair who assists in releasing her from a twisted enchantment.”

In this piece, you’ll find the latest trailer. To make its premiere even more exciting, it was unveiled together with a unique live musical performance by both Hahn and her series companion, Aubrey Plaza. They enchanted us with their rendition of the captivating new tune, titled “The Ballad of the Witches Road.”

On that particular evening, they were additionally accompanied by their fellow actors Patti LuPone, Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, and Debra Jo Rupp, along with the Oscar-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, as well as Kevin Feige, President and producer at Marvel Studios.

Not too long ago, we received confirmation about the launch date of the series, and as a result, anticipation for the WandaVision spin-off has reached its peak level.

As someone who has been a lifelong comic book reader, I can confidently say that Agatha Harkness is a character that only the deepest diving fans would recognize. Growing up, I was always immersed in the world of comics and even worked at a local comic shop for a few years. However, it wasn’t until recently that I stumbled upon Agatha Harkness in the Marvel Universe. For those who may not be as familiar with her, she is a powerful witch and mentor to some of the most iconic characters such as Scarlet Witch and Vision. It’s always exciting to discover new characters within the comic book world, but it can be frustrating when they are not as widely recognized as they should be.

“Therefore, this occurrence serves as proof of the remarkable quality of the writing and the peculiar timing, making it quite extraordinary, almost unbelievable.”

As a movie enthusiast, I can’t help but express my excitement for this upcoming project! It’s set to be an exhilarating, entertaining exploration into that fascinating universe… You see, the original WandaVision series was a captivating take on sitcoms, and it only makes sense that it would spawn a spin-off. The idea is so self-referential, mirroring the very nature of WandaVision itself, making perfect sense in a delightfully meta way.

Agatha All Along release date

Agatha All Along is set to debut on Disney Plus on Wednesday, the 18th of September 2024, launching with a double episode.

At San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced that a winter 2023/2024 release window was set for one of their upcoming movies. However, due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, there have been delays, so the release date might be slightly later than originally planned.

Back in January, Hahn revealed that filming had almost wrapped.

At the Emmy Awards, she shared with The Hollywood Reporter, “We only have a few more days left to wrap things up, but we’re mostly there! It’s incredibly thrilling!”

When asked about her excitement for Marvel fans to watch it, she replied: “I’m just as excited for Marvel enthusiasts as well as those who enjoy witches! I can hardly contain my anticipation for everyone to catch a glimpse of it!”

Previously, the character was observed being enchanted and reverting back to her curious neighbor persona, Agnes, at the hands of Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen). This suggests there’s a chance that Wanda might reappear in this show again.

We’ll need to wait and find out if and how she might reappear in the storyline of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, given her destiny.

In another part of the story, we’ll see Dottie reappear, played by Emma Caulfield as before. On the other hand, Patti LuPone will take on the role of a 450-year-old Sicilian witch. Her coven will include Aubrey Plaza, Kathryn Hahn, and Joe Locke.
