Daredevil: Born Again Trailer Reveals What Happened to Bullseye

As a long-time Daredevil enthusiast who’s seen more than my fair share of superhero shenanigans, I can confidently say that the revival of Daredevil: Born Again has me absolutely thrilled! The prospect of Bullseye finally making his grand entrance is enough to make any fan’s heart race. Remembering Charlie Cox’s heartfelt words about the unfulfilled Bullseye arc during the original series cancellation, I can only imagine the excitement he must be feeling now!

Attendees at D23’s Friday night event were given a sneak peek at the initial teaser trailer for “Daredevil: Born Again”, essentially the fourth season of the popular Netflix series that has undergone significant creative changes and is now connected to its predecessor. Given this development, it’s logical that many original characters will reappear. In addition to the existing cast, the character Benjamin Poindexter, famously known as Bullseye from “Daredevil”, will also be part of the show.

In the shown footage at D23, Poindexter appears with handcuffs on and in an orange jumpsuit. The specific timeframe of this scene isn’t specified, leaving it uncertain whether it follows the storyline of Daredevil Season Three or if it’s set after events from Daredevil: Born Again. Notably, Poindexter was observed on set brandishing weapons alongside Foggy Nelson (portrayed by Elden Henson) and Karen Page (played by Deborah Ann Woll).

Regardless of the circumstances, it’s evident that Bullseye will serve some jail time. The fact that Charlie Cox couldn’t delve into the Bullseye/Daredevil narrative when Daredevil was initially terminated following its third season was a deeply disappointing revelation for him.

In a 2019 convention, Cox expressed his excitement about Season 3, particularly the development of the Poindexter and Bullseye storylines. He appreciates how the show subtly unfolds these elements without overdoing it. As he went through the scripts, he found himself questioning, ‘Is this really Bullseye? Maybe not…’, leaving him in suspense. When the trailer for the first time revealed the cap with the bullseye, everyone reacted with excitement, making it a cool moment indeed.

In the upcoming season, Charlie Cox reprises his role as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, alongside Vincent D’Onofrio (Kingpin), Jon Bernthal (Punisher), Wilson Bethel (Bullseye), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Ayelet Zurer (Vanessa Fisk), Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Genneya Walton, and Arty Froushan. However, the participation of Sandrine Holt, Nikki M. James, Clark Johnson, Michael Gaston, and Harris Yulin in the series may change due to the recent creative revamp.

The highly-anticipated series “Daredevil: Born Again” is set to premiere on Disney+ starting March 2025. If you haven’t subscribed yet, you can do so conveniently by clicking here.
