Thunderbolts* Teaser Reveals Yelena Belova’s New Look

As a die-hard Marvel fan who has lived through countless Avengers adventures, I can confidently say that the news about Yelena Belova’s transformation for Thunderbolts* has me more excited than Loki trying to manipulate an army of frost giants!

For the upcoming summer season of “Thunderbolts,” Yelena Belova is undergoing a transformation. This project joins “Captain America: Brave New World” and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” all of which were showcased at Disney’s D23 Expo, alongside the following three shows from Marvel Television. Footage leaked online from Thunderbolts reveals that Florence Pugh’s Belova sports a significantly different hairstyle compared to her looks in “Black Widow” and “Hawkeye.”

It has been noted that Belova’s hairstyle bears a striking resemblance to the style worn by Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff) in Avengers: Infinity War.

Amongst admirers and colleagues alike, Pugh is highly esteemed. Earlier this year, Sebastian Stan stated that in the film “Thunderbolts“, Pugh was simply exceptional and a standout.

“I was extremely delighted when he complimented me, as I shared with GamesRadar at San Diego Comic-Con. Hearing compliments from people you admire, respect, and enjoy collaborating with can boost your self-confidence significantly. It’s a fantastic feeling to know that those you admire are also recognizing your efforts. Plus, he’s been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a long time, so his praise holds great value.”

In the upcoming movie, Pugh will be joined by David Harbour, her co-star from Black Widow, who has described the film as having a sort of family gathering atmosphere.

Previously, Harbour stated that while they are all fantastic, his favorite is Florence Pugh. He finds her electrifying to work with, and their dynamic in this project is intricate. They explore various layers of their complex relationship, as his character is a self-centered narcissist who struggles to support others, and hers is dedicated to eliminating people. Needless to say, their initial interaction isn’t exactly promising.

Jake Schreier, known for “Paper Towns” and “Beef”, is directing the movie based on a script co-written by Eric Pearson (“Thor: Ragnarok”, “Black Widow”), Lee Sung Jin (“Beef”), and Joanna Calo (“Bojack Horseman”). The film stars Chris Evans, who will be playing the character, alongside Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), Wyatt Russell (US Agent), Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Florence Pugh, Olga Kurylenko, Lewis Pullman, and Geraldine Viswanathan. The movie also features Mel as a character.

Marvel Studios’ movie “Thunderbolts” is scheduled for release on May 5th, 2025. The upcoming schedule from Marvel Studios also includes the releases of “Deadpool & Wolverine” on July 26th, “Captain America: Brave New World” on February 14th, 2025, “The Fantastic Four” on July 25th, 2025, “Blade” on November 7th, 2025, “Avengers: Doomsday” on May 1st, 2026, and “Avengers: Secret Wars” on May 7th, 2027.
