Stumble Guys on PlayStation Adding Split-Screen Multiplayer, TMNT Content, and More

As a long-time fan of chaotic party games and someone who grew up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I couldn’t be more excited about the latest updates to Stumble Guys! The addition of local multiplayer on PlayStation is a game-changer for me and my friends, allowing us to experience the mayhem together in the same room.

The game “Stumble Guys” was introduced on PlayStation a few months back, but since then it’s been gradually catching up with some of the features and content that were initially released. Recently, local split-screen multiplayer was integrated into the Xbox version in June, and this feature is now active for the PlayStation version too. Essentially, you can now play through stages with up to four other players in the same room! If the functionality on Xbox serves as a guide, only one player will be able to log in using their Scopely account, while the others will play as guests and utilize skins belonging to the primary player.

As a diehard fan, I’m thrilled to share that Scopely is expanding its offerings for PlayStation, bringing some exciting crossover content from its mobile game. Until now, these collaborations were exclusive to the mobile version, but soon we’ll have the chance to acquire and enjoy content inspired by Dungeons & Dragons and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! It’s not just about unlocking new skins; we’re talking about immersive modes, maps, and even areas based on these iconic franchises. For instance, the TMNT crossover takes us to the sewers beneath New York City, where we slide down massive water slides in a race to the finish, trying to dodge members of the Foot Clan floating around on inflatable tubes. This is more than just a game; it’s an adventure!

The news that these crossovers are headed to PlayStation suggests good news for many crossover games that console players didn’t get to experience in the past. Currently, the mobile version of Stumble Guys features content inspired by My Hero Academia, and there are numerous other crossovers that have yet to hit consoles, such as one with skins based on NFL teams. Here’s hoping these won’t take long to follow!

Initially available on Xbox and PlayStation, Stumble Guys is set to appear on Nintendo Switch towards the end of this month. The announcement for the Nintendo Switch version was made before that of the PlayStation, but it won’t be accessible until August 20th. As of now, it remains undetermined whether Nintendo Switch users can anticipate local multiplayer or collaborations with this game, although we hope Scopely will share more details soon.
