Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Star Michael Keaton Teases "Stronger Story" Than Original

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for timeless cinema, I can confidently say that the upcoming sequel, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” has me more excited than a kid on Christmas morning. With the original director Tim Burton and Michael Keaton at the helm, it’s like revisiting an old friend who’s brought along some fresh faces to keep things interesting.

Originally, Tim Burton and Michael Keaton, the original director and star of Beetlejuice, had made it clear they wouldn’t make a sequel unless there was a compelling story. Not only does Keaton believe that the upcoming film Beetlejuice Beetlejuice meets their standards, but he thinks it boasts an even stronger narrative. The reason for this enhancement seems to be rooted in the development of supporting characters within the adventure, as opposed to relying solely on Keaton’s iconic character, “The Ghost with the Most.” Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is scheduled to hit theaters on September 6th.

In an interview with Total Film (as reported by GamesRadar), he highlighted the sequel’s “enhanced narrative” and mentioned that there are deeper relationships between characters for the viewers. He further explained that unlike before, instead of eagerly anticipating specific scenes or characters like Beetlejuice, this time around, there are surprises that exceed expectations and bring immense joy.

In the initial movie, both Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis took on roles as undead characters alongside Michael Keaton, who eventually gained legendary status in the horror-comedy genre. The new installment brings Michael Keaton together with actors like Willem Dafoe and Monica Bellucci portraying otherworldly beings, and Winona Ryder reprises her original role for this sequel.

Ryder conveyed his high level of assurance, stating, “I believe it will not only meet but surpass expectations. I must admit, my expectations were quite lofty, yet it managed to impress me greatly.” He also added, “I truly believe each generation will find something in it that they’ll genuinely appreciate.”

In much the same way that Tim Burton’s work on “Beetlejuice” stands out alongside films like “Batman” and “Edward Scissorhands”, newcomer Justin Theroux described his experience as akin to the thrilling journey of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”.

According to Theroux, this film takes bold risks. It’s filled with surreal elements and has an edgy, unrestrained feel to it, giving off the impression of being creatively uninhibited. It’s obvious that this movie wasn’t produced based on audience surveys or studio suggestions about what would be most appealing in the third act. Instead, it seems as though someone simply poured out Tim Burton’s imaginative ideas directly onto the screen, resulting in a thrilling viewing experience due to its uniqueness.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is set to land in theaters on September 6th.
