Deadpool & Wolverine Concept Art Includes T-Rex Variant, Ben Affleck’s Daredevil

As a seasoned gamer and Marvel Cinematic Universe enthusiast with over two decades of fandom under my belt, I must say that the latest news about the Deadpool & Wolverine movie has left me both intrigued and slightly disappointed.

In a fascinating turn of events, Deadpool and Wolverine didn’t shy away from delivering unexpected twists, such as the reappearance of veteran Marvel characters like Elektra, portrayed by Jennifer Garner, and Blade, played by Wesley Snipes. The announcement of Garner’s role last year sparked speculation about whether Ben Affleck’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil would also make an appearance. Now, we have a glimpse of what that could have been. Marvel concept artist Rodney Fuentebella shared a piece designed for the movie on Instagram, depicting a grand battle scene where Deadpool, Wolverine, Elektra, Blade, Johnny Storm (Chris Evans as Human Torch), and Affleck’s version of Daredevil were all involved.

According to Fuentebella’s post, this is an early sketch he made for the Marvel Studios’ Deadpool and Wolverine movie. At that point, the movie was still in its early stages, meaning many things changed later on. However, he wanted to share a glimpse of how incredible and exciting this film could potentially be at the time. He enjoyed designing all the interactions between these heroes and the various Deadpool characters.

Why Is Ben Affleck’s Daredevil Not in Deadpool & Wolverine?

In the movie Deadpool & Wolverine, there’s a joke about Daredevil (played by Ben Affleck) and Elektra (played by Jennifer Garner), but these characters do not actually appear in the film. After its release, director Shawn Levy mentioned they thought about including Affleck’s Daredevil, but ultimately, it didn’t happen as planned.

Initially, among a list of 70 Marvel characters, Daredevil was included. However, after our initial discussions, neither he nor any further interaction, proposals, or similar actions were ever brought up by Levy.

What Is Deadpool & Wolverine About?

In the upcoming Marvel Studios’ movie featuring Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Deadpool is set to alter the course of the Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside Wolverine. The cast includes Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox, Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova, along with the return of several Deadpool co-stars including Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Stefan Kapi?i?, Brianna Hildebrand, Rob Delaney, and Lewis Tan. Additionally, Aaron Stanford is back from the X-Men film series as Pyro, while there are rumors that Jennifer Garner may reprise her role as Elektra Natchios.
