Randy Orton Reveals Length of New WWE Contract

As a gamer with decades of wrestling fandom under my belt, let me tell you, the return of Randy Orton is like finding that rare, sought-after collectible you never thought you’d see again. The Viper has been a constant force in the WWE universe since I was just a kid, and his resilience in the face of adversity is nothing short of inspiring.

Randy Orton, also known as The Viper, is back in action, looking like he never left the wrestling ring. He made his comeback at WWE Survivor Series 2023, teaming up with Cody Rhodes’ group to defeat The Judgment Day within War Games. Due to some issues with his back, Orton had been out of action for approximately 18 months prior to this, needing surgery in May 2022. Medical professionals suggested that he should retire, but Orton proved them wrong by returning to the WWE roster regularly over the past nine months. During this time, Orton has fought against opponents such as Roman Reigns, LA Knight, AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Logan Paul, and even The Bloodline.

The Apex Predator has half a decade to keep adding names to his hit list.

In an interview with Marca, Randy Orton disclosed that his newly signed contract lasts for the upcoming five years, keeping him part of the WWE team until 2029.

“Orton recently extended his contract for another five years, so he’s taking his time. From his perspective, there’s plenty of time. He feels fantastic and is in good health.”

Currently, Orton’s aspirations align with his mindset from back in May. In an interview conducted four months ago, the 44-year-old Orton expressed his desire to continue wrestling into his fifties, and he emphasized his goal of maintaining a full-time schedule throughout that period.

If someone had asked me two years ago, I would have believed we were nearing the end. However, a spinal fusion surgery about a year and a half ago transformed the situation for me, as Orton expressed. My dream is to travel every week, appear on all screens, and be present on all major platforms. Ideally, I’d like to wrestle until I reach my 50s and then retire, having spent three decades with this company at the top. I have been around for a while, but more than that, I’ve been here from the start. I’ve consistently given my all, regardless of injuries, and it seems now is the ideal setting for me to flourish.

On August 31st, Saturday, Orton will confront Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the WWE Bash in Berlin.
