Replaced Has Been Delayed to 2025

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I’ve learned to expect the unexpected when it comes to release dates. The news about Replaced being delayed again feels like a familiar tune, albeit one that I wish would stop playing on my gaming radar.

Since it was first announced in 2021, “Replaced” has been eagerly awaited on numerous most anticipated lists. However, the release of this intriguing 2.5D action platformer is now pushed back further than initially planned, as Sad Cat Studios has announced another delay in its development.

Via Twitter, Sad Cat Studios shared that the release of “Replaced” has been pushed back to 2025. They admitted their initial 2024 launch window was optimistic and expressed regret for the delay, explaining that they require additional time to ensure the game meets their creative vision.

In their announcement about the delay, Sad Cat Studios said, “Our original release date was overly hopeful, and we’re truly sorry for this.” They explained that developing the game “Replaced” is an extraordinary task, and they are honored to be crafting something so unique and exceptional.

“Let’s take some extra time so that we can confidently deliver work that matches our self-imposed high quality and live up to the anticipations of our loyal supporters.”

next week, Sad Cat Studios will showcase their game “Replaced” at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, giving attendees the chance to play it themselves. The developer also hints at an exciting surprise coming later this week for those who can’t make it, possibly a new trailer.

It’s not the first time the release of “Replaced” has been postponed. Initially scheduled for 2022, it got pushed back to 2023 because of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The team behind the game, Sad Cat Studios, consists of developers from Belarus and Ukraine. Later on, it was delayed again, this time moving its release to 2024.

Whenever it releases, Replaced will be available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
