The 27-year-old recently shared insights about her struggle with post-partum depression following the births of her kids, Stormi (aged 6) and Aire (aged 2), who are both with her former partner, Travis Scott.
Kylie mentioned during an interview with British Vogue on August 13 that Stormi was one-year-old, while her depression following Aire’s birth also persisted for around a year. She expressed, “I’ll be turning 27 soon and I’m beginning to feel like myself again. After being pregnant, I didn’t have the chance to sort out some aspects of my life, and then postpartum lasted a year. Mentally, it was tough; hormonally, it was challenging.”
However, even though Kylie, currently in a relationship with Timothée Chalamet post-split from Travis, experienced depression after giving birth to both her kids, she pointed out that it felt distinct following the arrival of her son.
The Kardashians’ star shared an insight, stating that each experience was unique: “It affected me differently on two occasions,” she said. “With my son, it might have been severe baby blues, which made me incredibly emotional about things I wouldn’t normally be emotional over. I remember being on the phone with my mom all day, crying hysterically, struggling to decide his name.”
Previously, Kylie openly discussed her difficulty in choosing a suitable name for her youngest child, initially feeling that the name Wolf didn’t resonate with her.
“Ever since our encounter, he’s been an absolute marvel to me, beyond perfection in my eyes. I found myself at a loss for words, questioning my own worthiness to even utter his name. He truly merited so much more than a simple label from me. That moment stirred something deep within me, a realization of my own shortcomings.”
As a lifestyle expert, I can relate to Kylie Jenner’s journey as a mother. Regardless of the challenges and unexpected twists, I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything else. Becoming a parent before I had planned has been an unforeseen blessing that has enriched my life in ways I never imagined.
Kylie shared that Stormi wasn’t an intentional pregnancy, but it occurred naturally. However, she had always desired having a child, and Stormi’s arrival fulfilled that longing of hers.
Additionally, the influential figure in cosmetics disclosed an interesting detail: During the time when Wolf and Aire were under consideration, another name was in contention as well. It wasn’t until a full year had passed that Kylie ultimately chose to go with Aire.
She revealed, “For quite some time, my son’s real name was Knight. And surprisingly, even today, my daughter often jokes, ‘Don’t you recall when Aire was named Knight? That was amusing, Mom. I preferred Knight back then.'”
To which Kylie quipped, “And I’m like, ‘You know what, we are not doing this again.’”
Regardless of the highs and lows of being a mother, the creator of Kylie Cosmetics wouldn’t trade this experience for anything else, not even if becoming a parent happened sooner than anticipated.
“Stormi wasn’t something we deliberately set out to have,” Kylie clarified. “However, it turned out to be a beautiful surprise, and I had always desired to become a mother. I’ve longed for kids for such a long time.”
Since having her first-born child, she has grown even more to value the harmony and insight her kids provide in her everyday existence.
Regardless of my circumstances or appearances, or whatever might be said about me online on any given day, she pointed out, my children always accept me without conditions. They’re completely smitten by me, and this has helped me navigate life more smoothly. I think to myself, ‘Well, these little ones at home rely on me and adore me, thinking I’m flawless. So, I don’t really require external approval.’
