The iconic anime series, Mobile Suit Gundam, continues to captivate audiences worldwide as its mech suits appear in surprising locations. Since its debut on anime, an essential aspect of this franchise by Yoshiyuki Tomino has been the Gundam Plastic Models, or Gunplas. To date, millions of these replicas have been purchased by fans from around the globe, with dedicated Gunpla enthusiasts consistently crafting innovative combinations that wouldn’t otherwise exist. In an intriguing turn of events, Mobile Suit Gundam is now merged with Kentucky Fried Chicken, resulting in a Gunpla Model never before seen.
The Mobile Suit Gundam franchise has enjoyed considerable success in the anime world lately, particularly with The Witch From Mercury which spawned numerous Gunpla models. After airing two seasons, Suletta Mercury emerged as one of the most memorable characters in the series’ history, often resolving school disputes using her own mobile suit. Although a third season for the show hasn’t been officially announced yet, the Gundam franchise continues to produce more anime content. This October, the franchise will introduce a new series called Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem For Vengeance that offers a fresh take on the original universe.

The Gundam Model Store recently posted a unique Gunpla design featuring a mech suit adorned with Colonel Sanders’ colors. Although this isn’t an authentic Gundam Plastic Model, it demonstrates the creativity of Gundam enthusiasts in developing fresh interpretations of the beloved mechs. Previously, we’ve witnessed Gundam collaborating with Sanrio’s Hello Kitty, and it seems that these mechs have explored bizarre realms before and will undoubtedly do so again in the future.
If you’re curious about the new anime adaptation of Gundam, set for release in October, let me fill you in on some details. Netflix refers to this upcoming series as “Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance“.
