As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for horror and mystery, I am eagerly anticipating the premiere of Ryan Murphy’s new series, Grotesquerie. Having played countless detective games in the past, I can empathize with Detective Lois Tryon’s struggle to unravel the sinister web of heinous crimes while juggling her personal life.
Ryan Murphy, co-creator of America Horror Story, is all set to unveil his latest horror drama series titled Grotesquerie. As per Deadline, the show’s first season consisting of 10 episodes will make its debut on FX on Wednesday, September 25th at 10 p.m. ET. The series will become available for streaming on Hulu a day later, and is also expected to appear on Disney+ in overseas markets soon. Alongside the release date, FX has also shared a brief description of the series which you can read below.
In the chilling mystery of “Grotesquerie”, a sequence of horrific crimes has sent ripples of unease through a tiny town. Detective Lois Tryon (Niece Nash-Betts) senses an uncanny connection, as if the perpetrator is deliberately mocking her. At home, Lois battles with a fraught relationship with her daughter, a husband battling illness in the hospital, and her own internal struggles. With no viable leads and uncertain about whom to trust, she reluctantly seeks assistance from Sister Megan (Micaela Diamond), a nun and reporter for the Catholic Guardian. Despite witnessing the darkest aspects of mankind, Sister Megan remains hopeful about humanity’s potential for kindness. Lois, however, harbors deep-seated fears that evil is triumphing. As they piece together fragments of evidence, Lois and Sister Megan find themselves ensnared in a malevolent web that only adds to the enigma, rather than providing answers.
Besides Nash-Betts and Diamond, the cast of Grotesquerie includes Courtney B. Vance playing Marshall Tryon, Lesley Manville portraying Nurse Redd, Nicholas Alexander Chavez as Father Charlie, and Raven Goodwin as Merritt Tryon. Travis Kelce is also part of the ensemble, although his specific role has not been disclosed yet.
Kelce Has Previously Said His Role in Grotesquerie is “Big”
Previously this year, Kansas City Chiefs player Kelce discussed his part in the show “Grotesquerie” on his New Heights podcast. In the discussion, he expressed surprise at being cast and referred to his role as significant within the series.
“Kelce was astonished and taken aback when he learned that he was being given such a significant role on the show because it’s a major part. He spoke with great conviction that Kelce could handle it, which boosted his confidence in their initial conversation. Now, he hopes not to disappoint him.”
In the upcoming TV series, Travis Kelce will be making his significant debut into acting. Previously, this football star has hosted Saturday Night Live and made a brief appearance in SNL’s NFL-Taylor Swift sketch during the autumn of last year.
Grotesquerie debuts Wednesday, September 25th on FX.
