As a lifelong wrestling fan with over three decades of watching and analyzing the sport, I must say that tonight’s NXT episode was a rollercoaster ride! The return of Joe Hendry added an unexpected twist to Ethan Page’s reign, and the tension between these two rivals was palpable.
To initiate tonight’s WWE NXT episode, it was all about self-adulation for Ethan Page as he strutted into the ring to mock his potential opponents and bask in his prolonged Title victory. Page didn’t hesitate to throw jabs at several who may have seen themselves as top contenders, but then TNA’s Joe Hendry unexpectedly reappeared on NXT, eager to join the fray. A series of sharp words ensued between the two celebrities, with Page claiming Hendry’s moment in the spotlight was nearly over, to which Hendry retorted that he was after the NXT Championship. The crowd joined in with Hendry’s song, causing Page to make a hasty exit. Suddenly, out of the blue, Wes Lee knocked Hendry unconscious, suggesting that Hendry has one more adversary to overcome before a Title bout can take place.
Stole Your Thunder
As a long-time wrestling fan and someone who has followed Page’s career closely, I must say that I was genuinely thrilled when he won the Title at Heatwave. His victory certainly shook up the WWE world and for a brief moment, he was the center of attention. However, as Hendry pointed out, it didn’t take long for the spotlight to shift away from Page and onto him.
“Alright buddy, my take on this situation is simple: use your win from last week as a stepping stone and get yourself back into TNA if you ask me. Frankly, Joe, I’ve got to be honest with you, I don’t comprehend why you’re sticking around NXT.” Hendry then made it clear where his allegiance lies. “Ethan, let me tell you this, just like everyone else here, I’m here in NXT with one goal: to claim the NXT Championship.”
15 Minutes are Up
Page countered Hendry’s rising stardom by criticizing him again. “TNA, NXT, and the entire world seem to be on Joe Hendry’s side, but not me,” he declared. “I can’t stand your song, it makes me feel nauseous every time I hear it. I think you’re reaching the fourteenth minute of your fifteen minutes of fame. You might not realize this, but if you dare to challenge me and my Title, I will reveal you for the fleeting sensation that you are.”
“I didn’t become successful overnight; I’ve been honing my skills for over a decade. Everywhere I’ve showcased my talents, I’ve managed to convince spectators of my abilities. Even legends like Kurt Angle and Booker T have been converted into fans. My boss, HBK, also has faith in me, Joe Hendry. During a recent performance, the crowd sang my song, and I managed to drive Page out of the ring. However, out of nowhere, Wes Lee superkicked me, and he stood tall, challenging the Champ.”
