As a long-time fan of the WWE scene, I’ve seen my fair share of betrayals and dramatic turns, but Wes Lee‘s revelation during the Great American Bash left me speechless! It was like watching a slow-motion train wreck, where you know something terrible is about to happen, yet you can’t look away.
At the Great American Bash, Wes Lee left spectators speechless when he betrayed his friends Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel, collectively known as The Rascalz. Lee delivered a powerful superkick to Miguel’s face before attacking Wentz too, shattering The Rascalz and leaving everyone in disbelief. Tonight on WWE NXT, Lee unveiled the reasons behind his betrayal, revealing that this animosity had been brewing for years. Lee pointed to Wentz’s previous release from WWE as the catalyst for his actions. Moreover, Lee claimed that Miguel and Wentz formed The Rascalz without him in TNA, and while he acknowledged their accomplishments, it appears he has now drawn a firm boundary between them. To cap off his fierce speech, Lee even took a dig at Wentz with the well-known “future endeavors” phrase to conclude his ruthless promo.
A Long Time Coming
“Last week left the world in disbelief, and I must admit, it took me by surprise too. I thought I was on track to win the Tag Team Titles with my best friend, but Zach disappointed me once more. It all goes back two years when Zach first let me down.
“I picked myself up and became the greatest North American Champion of all time. Some of ya’ll cheer that, some of ya’ll boo that, but you all witnessed it first hand. But Zach and Trey weren’t there. They abandoned me. They reunited in TNA and absolutely killed it, while I broke my back to become a top star in NXT. And you see, all of us, we all aspired to reach greatness together. We all wanted to have a legacy to live beyond our years, but it was I alone that achieved that greatness,” Lee said.
As someone who has spent a significant portion of my life as a caretaker and manager for a group of musicians, I can empathize with Lee’s sentiment. The responsibility of keeping everything together, ensuring that everyone is where they need to be for performances, and mediating conflicts can take a toll on even the most resilient individuals. It’s understandable that after years of putting others first, one might feel burnt out and ready to focus on their own needs.
Showdown at No Mercy
Lee stated, “Currently, my destination isn’t a place where my friends can tag along. The sole reason they returned was for the WWE association. I’m well aware of how this will unfold. Zach, I understand that our match is inevitable. I know your eagerness to challenge me, and with No Mercy approaching, when we face off, you’ll discover that everything I said tonight holds true, and when we enter the ring together, I won’t show you any mercy.”
“Once everything wraps up, you and Trey can return to TNA and enjoy a great wrestling career there,” Lee mentioned. “Meanwhile, I’m aiming for bigger opportunities, like winning the NXT Championship. So, on behalf of WWE Superstar Wes Lee, I wish you all the best in your future ventures.”
