Having followed this series since its inception, I’ve grown fond of the dysfunctional team of British agents and their intricate, suspenseful storylines. The latest trailer has only intensified my anticipation, with the promise of a bombing that will uncover personal secrets and rock the already shaky foundations of Slough House.

As a die-hard movie fan, I’m thrilled to see familiar faces back on screen. But what really piques my curiosity is the introduction of Hugo Weaving’s enigmatic antagonist and the heart-wrenching demise of one of our main characters. The question lingering in my mind is: Who among our beloved cast will meet their end?
Back when Apple unveiled sneak peeks for season 4, it was evident that several recurring characters were sporting quite serious expressions. It seems like something big is brewing on set!

Slow Horses season 4 release date
The confirmation is out that Apple TV+ will release Season 4 of Slow Horses on Wednesday, 4th September. On this very day, the first two episodes from the season will make their premiere on the streaming platform.
In simple terms, the last four episodes will air every week leading up to the final episode which will be available on Wednesday, October 2nd.
So you get two episodes on launch day, and then one per week (on Wednesdays) until the finale.

In the main role once more is Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, with many other key players likely to reappear as well.
Here are the actors who will be reprising their roles: Kristin Scott Thomas as Diana Taverner, Jack Lowden as River Cartwright, Rosalind Eleazar as Louisa Guy, Christopher Chung as Roddy Ho, Aimee-Ffion Edwards as Shirley Dander, Kadiff Kirwan as Marcus Longridge, and Jonathan Pryce as David Cartwright.
It’s plausible that Saskia Reeves will reprise her role as Catherine Standish; however, it’s not definitive that she’ll return following her departure from Slough House at the conclusion of season 3.

Slow Horses season 4 plot: What could happen?
As a captivated moviegoer, I eagerly anticipate the fourth season’s premiere, where we find ourselves right in the heart of chaos. The storyline unfolds with an explosive event that not only shatters the fragile peace but also unearths deeply guarded secrets among the residents of Slough House, shaking its foundations to their core.
Beyond this, specifics about the series’ storyline remain mostly secret, but what is clear is that it will still be heavily influenced by Mick Herron’s novels. The narrative for season 4 is set to be based on “Spook Street.”
Having spent twenty years in the Intelligence Service, I can confidently say that I know the ins and outs of keeping secrets. However, it seems that my old habits have caught up with me, as I find myself once again in the crosshairs. After a lifetime of keeping the world’s darkest truths hidden, I now realize that some things are best left buried. The target on my back is a constant reminder of the dangers that come with my line of work and the sacrifices I’ve made to keep our nation safe. But as I look back on my life and the people I’ve lost along the way, I can’t help but wonder if it was all worth it.
“Grandfather nurtured his grandson to become a hero, not an ordinary horse. Instead of becoming part of the folklore of Spook Street, River Cartwright now works with Jackson Lamb’s group of unproductive individuals at Slough House. However, this doesn’t mean he won’t abandon everything and act independently when his grandfather is in danger.”
In the past, Lamb collaborated with Cartwright, and is well aware that he’s not an innocent elderly man. Therefore, when a distress signal triggers an alarm at Intelligence Service Headquarters, it’s Lamb who is summoned to confirm the identity of the deceased. And it’s Lamb who will take whatever measures are required to safeguard an agent in danger.
As a passionate cinephile, I must admit that the character has noticeably changed from his former self. He’s showing signs of deterioration, and dementia seems to be taking its toll. What makes this story captivating is following the journey of our protagonist, River, as he grapples with heavy real-life issues and confronts aspects of his past and present that are incredibly challenging for him to handle.
“So River takes a battering, he’s losing some of his boyishness there.”
