Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Features Classic and Standard Controls

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Features Classic and Standard Controls

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that the upcoming release of Capcom’s Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is like a sweet, nostalgic punch to the gut, but in a good way! I fondly remember the original 2006 release on Xbox 360, and the thought of revisiting Willamette Mall with enhanced visuals, quality-of-life features, and new photography options is nothing short of exhilarating.

As a diehard fan, I must say that Capcom’s Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster seems to be more of an upgrade rather than a complete overhaul of the 2006 original. Yet, it packs quite a punch with improved visuals, user-friendly features, and innovative photography modes. Thanks to IGN’s recent hands-on preview, we now know that it will offer both classic and modern control options!

As a dedicated fan, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the latest releases of this game, both referred to as Classic and Standard. The Classic version mirrors the controls from the initial Xbox 360 launch and its 2016 re-release, offering a traditional gaming experience. On the other hand, the Standard version is a fresh take, enhancing features such as moving while aiming, which isn’t an option with the Classic setup. It also offers the exciting feature of button remapping, something that isn’t possible in the Classic setup. Whether Capcom will consider a hybrid approach, similar to Konami’s strategy with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, is yet to be determined.

The enhanced version of “Dead Rising,” titled “Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster,” will be released on September 19th for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. A physical edition for consoles is set to launch on November 8th. A Director’s Report video, recently published, offers an in-depth look at the gameplay, highlighting numerous changes and enhancements. You can watch it here, or read our feature for more comprehensive details.
