As a seasoned movie critic with a penchant for gritty, urban dramas and a keen eye for diverse representation, I am thrilled to see the confirmation of Supacell’s second season. Having spent my formative years navigating the concrete jungles of London myself, I can appreciate the raw authenticity that this series brings to the table.
Now that Supacell’s second season has officially been announced, Michael star Tosin Cole shares his expectations for the series’ narrative direction.
He expressed curiosity about how the events from the first season might influence him in the second season. It appears to me that at the end of season 1, Michael seemed more brooding and vengeful.
“I’m eager to watch how his story of revenge unfolds, understand how it impacts him, and follow his journey as this theme is central – that’s what I’m excited to explore.”
Additionally, Cole expressed his hope that the play’s West End stint would serve as an opportunity to “unlock possibilities for numerous playwrights, production companies, and directors, as well as performers of diverse backgrounds.”
Upon the announcement of Supacell’s renewal, its creator Rapman expressed his excitement in a statement: “I can hardly wait for everyone to witness Supacell, season 2. For me, season 1 served as an origin tale. Season 2 marks the true start of the journey. In essence, season 1 was my ‘Batman Begins’, and season 2 is where I envision ‘The Dark Knight’.”
As I excitedly shared on my Instagram, the second season of this captivating series will undoubtedly be more exhilarating than its predecessor! The entire talented ensemble has expressed their enthusiasm for this upcoming installment too.
You can now stream Supercell Season 1 on Netflix! To start enjoying it, sign up for Netflix at just £4.99 per month. Additionally, Netflix is accessible on Sky Glass and Virgin Media Stream as well.
