Deadpool & Wolverine's Channing Tatum Teases Gambit's Fate After the Movie

As a long-time comic book enthusiast and moviegoer, I must say that Channing Tatum‘s portrayal of Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine has been nothing short of delightful. Despite the uncertainty surrounding his character’s fate in the film, the hope of seeing him return to our screens remains alive and well.

After years of delays in production, Channing Tatum’s Gambit film was ultimately scrapped when Disney acquired 20th Century Fox. Yet, despite this setback, Tatum remains optimistic about potentially reprising his role. In Deadpool & Wolverine, he first donned the role, and by the movie’s end, there were uncertainties as to whether Gambit was dead, absorbed by Alioth, or if he had the chance to travel to another universe to continue his story. When asked about it, Tatum claimed he was just as clueless as the audience, only knowing what the script revealed.

In the movie, Channing Tatum wore an authentic comic book costume for his character and spoke with a thick Cajun accent that stayed true to the original comics. During the development of the Gambit film by Fox, some fans joked about whether Tatum could convincingly portray the accent. While audience reactions have been divided on whether he aimed for a realistic (yet thick) accent or exaggerated it for humor, most viewers agree they enjoyed what Tatum added to the movie.

In that instance, it seems to me that he was likely stuck within the Void, according to Tatum’s statement to Collider. However, there appears to be a mysterious event unfolding at that very moment, which might remain unknown to everyone for now.

It could be that Tatum is expressing his own optimism; just lately, the actor expressed hope that the unprecedented success of Deadpool & Wolverine, which has shattered numerous box office records and seems destined to become the highest-earning X-Men film, might pave the way for a new Gambit production.

Tatum confirmed that he has expressed his desire for this role multiple times over the past decade. Now, it lies with Bob Iger and Kevin Feige to decide. He can only hope for the best.

In the Marvel Studios’ movie featuring Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), titled “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Ryan Reynolds will alter the course of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in conjunction with Wolverine, and this film boasts an impressive cast. Matthew Macfadyen portrays Paradox, while Emma Corrin is Cassandra Nova. Returning Deadpool co-stars include Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Stefan Kapi?i? as Piotr Rasputin/Colossus, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Rob Delaney as Peter, and Lewis Tan as Shatterstar. Aaron Stanford will reprise his role as Pyro from the “X-Men” film series, and there are rumors that Jennifer Garner may return as Elektra Natchios.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excited to share that I was part of the team behind the production of the highly-anticipated movie, Deadpool & Wolverine. Kevin Feige, Ryan Reynolds, Shawn Levy, and Lauren Shuler Donner led the charge, with Louis D’Esposito, Wendy Jacobson, Mary McLaglen, Josh McLaglen, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, George Dewey, and Simon Kinberg serving as executive producers. The script for this action-packed adventure was penned by Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, and Shawn Levy. On July 26th, Deadpool & Wolverine hit the big screens exclusively in theaters, so grab your popcorn and get ready for an unforgettable ride!
