As a lifelong Disney enthusiast who has been enchanted by their magical tales since my childhood, I must say that the upcoming live-action adaptation of Snow White is nothing short of a dream come true! The first trailer alone sent waves of excitement coursing through me, and I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation building as we get closer to its release in 2025.
As a devoted fan, I was thrilled to see some beloved Disney characters take center stage once again during D23, including Mufasa, Stitch, and The Incredibles. But among them all, Snow White had her moment under the spotlight as Disney unveiled the highly anticipated trailer for their live-action adaptation. This sneak peek truly ignited conversations among us fans!
Some Big Changes
In the fresh take on Snow White, you’ll notice many similarities to the 1937 classic, but expect some differences too. For instance, a novel character named Jonathan (portrayed by Andrew Burnap) and original songs penned by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are among the new additions. Furthermore, there’s an exciting alteration to one of the original characters – the concept of true love as the sole compass will no longer be a central focus, which actress Rachel Zegler discussed when discussing the remake’s contemporary flair at D23.
Snow White won’t be dreaming of finding true love; instead, she dreams of embodying the strong leader she believes herself to be, a role model her father envisioned for her when he said she could rule fearlessly, fairly, bravely, and truthfully. It’s truly inspiring for young people everywhere to see themselves reflected in this story. (Zegler)

1. One of Disney’s most renowned characters, Snow White, made her debut with a bang and has remained iconic ever since. She is the original Disney Princess, which is why Halle Bailey admitted in an interview with NME that she initially felt apprehensive about taking on the role. “I was petrified, petrified, petrified, petrified,” Bailey shared. “Since Snow White established the blueprint for all future Disney Princesses in 1937, there’s a great deal of anticipation and pressure involved. You have numerous discussions beforehand about cutting your hair, learning to dance with imaginary animals, and dealing with various props that aren’t really there. The weight of it all can be overwhelming.”
