Deadpool & Wolverine: Jennifer Garner Concept Art Reveals Comic-Accurate Elektra

As a long-time Marvel enthusiast and avid fan of both Deadpool and Wolverine, I must say that the latest cinematic adventure has left me utterly thrilled! The cameo of Jennifer Garner as Elektra was an unexpected delight, especially considering it’s been over two decades since we last saw her in action.

Ever since Deadpool & Wolverine hit the big screen last month, it’s been stirring up a whirlwind of emotions among Marvel fans. One unexpected surprise was Jennifer Garner reprising her role as Elektra, a character we haven’t seen onscreen for over two decades. It turns out, her return could have looked very different if things had gone differently. Marvel concept artist John Stubart recently unveiled his vision of Garner’s Elektra comeback, sporting a faithful adaptation of the comic book costume, equipped with a headscarf and arm bands. According to Stubart, this revamped Elektra costume would have had an explanation tied to her years in The Void, where she had to adapt her wardrobe for survival. As a dedicated gamer and Marvel fan, I can’t help but wonder what might have been if this version of Elektra made it onto the big screen!

Initially, I received the chance to perform an initial rendering of the character #Elektra, as Staubart expresses. It’s a delight to assist with both the design and painting of this character. The presentation aimed to convey that she had been in a void for some time, resulting in changes to her costume due to wear, repairs, and modifications.

Why Did Jennifer Garner Return as Elektra?

In a post on social media shortly after the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, Garner disclosed that her character’s comeback in the film was initially conceived during the production of Netflix’s The Adam Project. She described this return as an “impossible dream”, and subsequently detailed the rigorous training and preparation she underwent to play the role.

In a reminiscence, I recall the instant when @slevydirect and @vancityreynolds conceived Elektra Natchios for the Deadpool 3 movie – it was on The Adam Project set, where they exchanged a look that spoke volumes, as if conveying entire dialogues or top-secret codes. There’s an extraordinary creative synergy between these two individuals. Since my last encounter with Elektra’s sais in 2004, apart from trying to convince my preschool friends I was a secret ninja, I hadn’t wielded them again; I was physically fit but not Marvel-ready. As this seemingly unattainable dream unfolded, my longtime friend and original stunt double @shaunaduggins and I stepped up our training under the guidance of @bethjnicely at @thelimitfit, incorporating daily routines with additional homework. We also attended boxing sessions thrice a week with @flvcothefuture from @matchroomxchurchillgym. Moreover, we relied heavily on @onepeloton’s @becsgentry for our workouts. It was an extraordinary ‘Superhero Summer’ for us, twirling sais in the backyard and laughing at our aching old bodies. My friends Ryan and Shauna have a remarkable ability to recognize and elevate those around them, making the set an absolute heaven with my old friend @thehughjackman, @dafnekeen, @channingtatum, and @realwesleysnipes in tow. Shooting the fight sequence was exhilarating, being there together felt like a dream. I am proud of my friends and thankful to share this experience with them. Words fail me, but I’m grateful beyond what ‘thank you’ can express.

What Is Deadpool & Wolverine About?

In the Marvel Studios production titled “Deadpool & Wolverine“, Ryan Reynolds’ character Deadpool teams up with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine to alter the course of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie features Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox, Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova, and a return of several previous cast members including Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Stefan Kapi?i?, Brianna Hildebrand, Rob Delaney, Lewis Tan, and Aaron Stanford (from the X-Men series). There are also rumors that Jennifer Garner may reprise her role as Elektra Natchios.

As a devoted fan, I’d express it like this:
