Mortal Kombat 1 Has Sold Over 4 Million Units

As a seasoned gamer with decades of Mortal Kombat battles under my belt, I must say that the latest iteration, Mortal Kombat 1, has truly lived up to its legacy. The new Kameo fighters mechanic and the full commitment to the multiverse trope have certainly stirred up some discussions among fans, but at the end of the day, it’s all about the brutal, adrenaline-pumping action.

The new combat mechanics in Mortal Kombat 1 and its embrace of the multiverse concept sparked varying opinions among fans of the series, yet despite this divide, the game has still achieved significant sales success.

In simple terms, it’s been shared that Mortal Kombat 1 has surpassed sales of 4 million copies globally. This milestone was reached within a year, as the game was initially released in September of 2023. By January, global sales had already exceeded 3 million units.

Next month appears poised for another significant chapter in the Mortal Kombat 1 saga, as WB Games and NetherRealm are preparing to unleash an extensive expansion titled “Khaos Reigns.” This expansion includes not only a fresh narrative but also the addition of six new playable characters and the comeback of Animalities.

In a recent development, WB Games unveiled a fresh trailer featuring one of the six new characters from the expansion – Cyrax. You can watch the trailer by clicking this link.
