Vampire Survivors Drops Update 1.11 With Patch Notes

As an old-timer who’s spent more hours than I care to remember in the mystical realm of Form, let me tell you, the latest updates have been nothing short of a revelation! The new Darkana VI – Moonlight Bolero, unlocked after descending into the depths of Room 1665, adds an exciting layer of challenge with its relentless stage bosses that keep popping up every minute.

Just now, developers at Poncle shared that “Vampire Survivors” will soon be available on PlayStation consoles this month, a news eagerly anticipated by many for months. Despite the release, development continues on fresh updates for the popular indie game. In early 2023, “Vampire Survivors” unveiled its annual “Chaos Roadmap,” which promises several free updates for the game. Today, they released “The Darkasso” update, one of many additions scheduled as part of the Chaos Roadmap.

In the latest update of Vampire Survivors, dubbed as The Darkasso, the most significant change is the introduction of five fresh Arcanas. These powerful new abilities can drastically alter gameplay if certain conditions are met, offering players five distinct strategies to exploit. Additionally, a new challenge stage, relic, and two unique character skins have been included. To top it off, there are nine additional achievements for those who enjoy collecting them.

Here are the complete details about the latest update for “The Darkasso”. As of now, you can play “Vampire Survivors” on Nintendo Switch, mobile devices, Xbox, and personal computers. The PlayStation release is scheduled for August 29th.

As a gamer, I’m diving right into the freshly unveiled cards from this update! Keep in mind that these new Arcanas are still considered experimental and might undergo changes based on your valuable feedback. Share your thoughts about how these 5 cards perform for me and other gamers so we can continue refining them and shape the design of future ones together.

Full spoilers:

How to Unlock

  • Go to the “Secrets” menu and type “forbiddenbox” in the text field to unlock the new stage.
  • Reach the bottom of the new stage to unlock the new relic.
  • Go to the “Unlocks” menu to see unlock instructions for the new arcanas.
  • Complete the available base game Adventures to unlock character skins.

New Arcana cards

At present, there are five Darkanas that can be unlocked within the game. You can gain access to these Darkanas by clicking the newly added button on the regular Randomazzo interface. The key distinction between Arcanas and Darkanas lies in their themes; however, functionally, they operate identically.

If your deck of arcana cards reaches or exceeds 23 cards, each subsequent draft provides an automatic re-roll option and allows you to choose from six cards rather than the usual four.

New special skins

In this game, there’s a fresh feature called “Special Character Skins” that not only changes a character’s appearance but also modifies their stats and weaponry. At present, we have 2 such skins up for grabs, and they can be yours if you successfully finish the current 2 main game Adventures. If you’ve already conquered these adventures, simply navigate to the Adventure menu to claim your rewards.

These two unlocks requries quite a bit of effort, so if that’s not your thing please remember that the Secrets-Cast Spell menu (and some googling) are there to help you 😉

New special skin for Imelda Belpaese: Unblinded Imelda

She starts with a level 5 Empty Tome and gets the following bonuses: +40% projectile Speed, +40% MoveSpeed, -10% Cooldown. Complete “World of Light and Dark” Adventure once to unlock.

New special skin for Poe Ratcho: Retired Poe Ratcho

As a gamer, I kick off with a level 5 Pummarola, scoring me an extra 30 points in MaxHealth and 5 health points per second recovery rate. To unlock it fully, I need to complete the “A Garlic Paradise” adventure at least once.

New stage: Room 1665

Overcoming a tough level where your relic power is limited, as you advance, enemies become more formidable. To move on, you must vanquish approximately 100 foes in each room. Light sources to guide you aren’t common, but they are earned upon completion of every room.

Relic: Darkasso

Allows to activate Darkanas. It comes with Darkana VI – Moonlight Bolero.
Unlocked by reaching the bottom of Room 1665.

Darkana: VI – Moonlight Bolero

When you acquire the Darkasso, it comes activated automatically. This means an additional stage boss appears every minute. These bosses may drop special treasure chests like Arcana Treasure chests, which allow you to earn extra arcanas even if you have already reached the standard limit. Additionally, there are Black Treasure chests that could contain a new passive weapon that you do not currently possess.

Darkana: I – Sapphire Mist

When Space Dude completes a run and there’s an 85% reduction in his cooldown period, he can unlock the ability.

Darkana: X – Hail From The Future

Whenever you advance to the next level, a combination of items determined by your luck and level will randomly appear on the stage. These items could be Gold Fingers, Gilded Clovers, Candyboxes, Arma Dios, or other similar ones. This occurs when you activate the Weird Souls Purifier with Santa Ladonna.

Darkana: XII – Crystal Cries

As a gamer, I discovered a hidden power when my health dipped dangerously low – the Starry Heavens with She-Moon Eeta activated! This event triggers an Orologion, which recharges when my character’s health is fully restored.

Darkana: XXI – Wandering the Jet Black

As a gamer, I managed to unlock an exhilarating ability with Bat Robbert: Reaching 665 MaxHealth triggers it! Now, whenever my Health dwindles, I unleash a shower of explosive projectiles. The more Health I recover throughout the game, the more destructive these explosions become. And here’s the catch – Bat Robbert’s trusty Magnet also influences the explosion’s reach and power!
