EastEnders spoilers as Linda Carter confirms rehab plans after brush with death

As a seasoned soap opera enthusiast who has witnessed countless dramas unfold on the cobbles of Weatherfield and the squares of Walford, I must say that Linda Carter‘s journey is one that resonates deeply with me. Having seen characters grapple with addiction before, I can empathize with her struggle and admire her courage to seek help.

Next week on EastEnders, I, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), am gearing up to make a significant stride in my journey toward overcoming alcoholism.

Lately, Linda has been experiencing a rough and intense period due to the burden of her lethal secret. On multiple occasions, she succumbed to her addiction to alcohol, which eventually led to several hospitalizations. This turn of events was instigated by Bernie Taylor (played by Clair Norris), who provided her with vodka and ultimately blackmailed her.

Linda’s son, Charlie Suff, persuaded her to accept rehabilitation, following which she was released from the hospital.

In the following sequences, Linda is scheduled to attend a meeting with her case manager about entering a rehabilitation facility. Her mother, Elaine Peacock (played by Harriet Thorpe), has generously offered to cover the costs, but it remains uncertain if Linda will follow through on her commitment.

As a cinephile immersed in the unfolding drama, I find myself following the plotline where Sharon Watts, Linda’s partner-in-crime, has devised a scheme to keep tabs on Bernie, the bereaved sister of Keanu, who tragically fell victim to Linda’s actions.

A troubled expression on Bernie’s countenance seemed to hint at further turmoil for The Six. However, will Linda manage to avoid such issues if she decides to depart from Walford in an attempt to control her drinking problem?

Since Linda is absent and not around Bernie anymore, could it be Sharon who’s at risk now? As always, The Six should keep a careful eye on their surroundings.

EastEnders airs these scenes on Monday 19th August 2024.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
