My Hero Academia Introduces Deku's New Quirk

As a long-time fan of My Hero Academia, I must say that this seventh season has been nothing short of exhilarating! The return post-Olympics and Deku’s final fight against Shigaraki is truly the cherry on top. While it’s heart-wrenching to see our beloved Bakugo hanging by a thread, it’s inspiring to witness Deku tap into his incredible potential with One For All.

The seventh season of My Hero Academia is back after a short break due to the 2024 Summer Olympics. Now that the games have concluded, we’re straight into the climax as Izuku Midoriya (Deku) starts his final battle against Shigaraki. Deku is in top shape with One For All’s abilities, but defeating Tomura won’t be a walk in the park. Fortunately, Deku has been given an additional extraordinary power by the Vestiges that could potentially be crucial in overthrowing the successor of All For One and ensuring a bright future for the Hero Society.

When utilizing the various abilities granted by One For All, there’s one particular talent that Izuku Midoriya had been saving for a critical moment. Reentering the battlefield at UA Academy, Midoriya is barely holding back his fury upon witnessing Bakugo clinging to life and several of his comrades severely injured in their confrontation with Shigaraki. Just in time, a motivational speech from Lemillion helps Izuku regain his cool. With his emotions under control, Deku is able to tap into the power of the Second One For All User, Kudo, and take the fight directly to Tomura.

Gearshift Explained

Izuku, or Deku as he’s known, has demonstrated his proficiency with One For All through abilities like Black Whip, Float, and Smokescreen. However, Gear Shift stands out as something unique. As the Second Vestige explains to Deku, this new power enables him to alter the speed of anything he touches, even defying inertia’s laws. This advantage proves crucial against Shigaraki. Yet, Kudo cautions that after five minutes, Deku ventures into potentially dangerous territory with this power.

As a gamer, I’m witnessing a gripping scene unfolding: not just Kudo chatting with Midoriya, but also a flashback sequence where the Second One For All user met his demise at the hands of All For One. In those old days, Kudo could merely accelerate small objects with Gearshift, but One For All’s influence has since transformed this Quirk into a formidable weapon. Izuku’s chances of winning are promising, yet he’s got just about five minutes to pull off the victory before things start getting complicated.

As a die-hard fan of Deku, I can’t wait to witness his hidden abilities unfold during the epic showdown in My Hero Academia! Keep up with me and Team Anime on ComicBook for all the latest scoops from UA Academy.
