As a seasoned gamer and avid manga reader with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the upcoming anime adaptation of Sakamoto Days has me genuinely excited. The unique blend of action and comedy in this shonen series is reminiscent of some of my favorite titles from the early 2000s.
Sakamoto Days is one of those shonen series that generates a lot of buzz even before it becomes an anime. Launched for publication in 2020, the show has gained popularity among readers due to its distinctive mix of action and humor, created by Yuto Suzuki. Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait too long to witness Taro Sakamoto’s adventures on television as TMS Entertainment and Netflix are set to release the series in 2025. Prior to the anime’s premiere, TMS has shared a new preview image giving us a sneak peek of what’s coming up at the family convenience store.
If you’re in need of a reminder about TMS Entertainment, this studio has been instrumental in some major anime series. Recently, they have contributed to titles such as Undead Unluck, Dr. Stone, Baki Hanma, Megalobox, and various projects under the Lupin The 3rd brand. Currently, they are also developing another significant anime for Netflix, Blue Box. With Sakamoto Days on the horizon, the upcoming anime adaptation could be one of the most eagerly awaited debuts in 2025.
Sakamoto Days: Taro is Coming
If you aren’t familiar with the main character from the anime “Sakamoto Days”, Taro used to be a renowned assassin across the globe, but he yearned for an ordinary existence. He then opened a convenience store with his family, but letting go of his past isn’t as simple as he thought. Fortunately, although he may seem out of shape, Taro still has an arsenal of skills at his disposal. As hinted in the initial trailer, TMS Entertainment is set to bring some major scenes from this shonen series to life on screen.
