From season 3 star teases new danger – and a “different kind of monster”

As a seasoned horror enthusiast who has braved countless chilling nights and terrifying tales, I must say that the teaser for From Season 3 sends shivers down my spine! With its intricate plot twists, haunting visuals, and eerie suspense, this series is a masterclass in modern horror.

*Warning: Spoilers ahead for From season 2 episode 10.*

The horror show we’ve been following is set to become even scarier as it enters its third season. Actress Elizabeth Saunders hints at new perils looming over the residents of our chilling small-town setting.

In the recent season, events grew increasingly unsettling as characters were tormented by eerie visions, slipped into terrifying comas, and found themselves host to grotesque parasites beneath Boyd’s (Harold Perrineau) skin. To make matters worse, the finale left us stunned when Tabitha (Catalina Sandino Moreno) appeared to plummet to her death, only for it to be revealed that she had miraculously survived and was now in a hospital within our world instead.

As a devoted cinephile eagerly anticipating the imminent arrival of season 3, I can’t help but tease what lies ahead: Saunders, our beloved actress portraying Donna Raines, Colony House leader, hinted at a new wave of horror that’s about to unfold.

Regarding any fresh developments this season, she subtly hinted: “Our world is intertwined with many uncharted territories, be they internal or external. What adventures lie ahead for us, both within and beyond our immediate surroundings, and where will the world find its way into our lives…”

“I’m having a bit of difficulty clarifying it, as I don’t want to reveal too much, but what I’m trying to convey has several layers, and they intertwine intricately. It’s certainly not straightforward; in fact, it becomes increasingly complex.”

It’s quite likely that, following her awakening in the outside world, Tabitha might establish some kind of link with her family or perhaps with the residents of the town. Could it also be the time when they convene for a long-awaited meeting to foster better communication?

Once again, season 3 will navigate the delicate line between light and darkness. Interestingly, Saunders points out that one aspect he adores about this series is its emphasis on love – there are indeed numerous instances of affection among the characters.

“It appears John Griffin and Jeff Pinkner delved into the topic – various forms of love. This includes lost love, newly discovered love, love that isn’t successful, and how these experiences aid us in human survival, as well as how our lack of connection can shatter us.”

I’m quite excited about the upcoming season for Donna, as hinted by Saunders with promises of some challenging and emotional experiences for her character. It seems we’re in store for some “painful” moments!

Donna is keeping things together, not only considering the Colony House situation, but she seems to be stretching herself thin and potentially struggling internally as well.

She experiences unique episodes of distress that are far beyond typical levels. These aren’t angry outbursts; rather, they cause her significant and intense pain.

In my opinion as a movie reviewer, Donna’s storyline in the first season is already captivating, yet as the series progresses, it seems to tighten its grip, much like a suspenseful thriller where you can feel the tension building around each character.

Starting 22nd September, you’ll be able to catch season 3 exclusively on MGM+. If you can’t wait that long, seasons 1 and 2 are already streaming on Sky Sci-Fi and NOW. Ready to embark on this sci-fi journey? Sign up for Sky TV here!
